With the decline of movies and TV, I am certainly looking more often for books to read. There are so many going back decades, I don't think I'll ever run out, especially as I don't really read a ton. It's unfortunately difficult to drop absolutely everything and just read a book. Other forms of entertainment are much more multi-tasking friendly.

Plodding through The Witcher series right now, when the weather sucks too much to be out in the garden, and nothing has broken on the car or truck.

I read a lot of literature as a kid. Too much actually; my parents were worried about me. That lasted until school got more demanding and I had to spend so much time buried in not-so-fun textbooks, it soured the whole experience for me. From that point on, I never read anything other than captions/subtitles in my free time. Then, a couple of years ago I tried reading books with an e-book reader device to help me fall asleep more easily. It worked really well and I have slowly rebuilt my reading habit, but nowhere near how much I read as a child.

The damage formal education has done is truly irreversible and a lot of people actually have similar experiences. For me personally, the worst offenders were history and literature classes, which deconstructed (not inherently a bad idea, but the implementation sucked) and made a job out of otherwise fun reads. Honestly, I wouldn't be so disgusted if school only had science classes and the ones teaching you language skills.

I wish I could read more but I don't have much time.

I used to read a lot when I was younger but not so much these days... unless these games can be counted as "reading books" in that case I read shit loads, hehe.

I haven't read a book since high school, but I like to read articles whether it's news articles, game articles, or sports articles doesn't matter

11+. fiction, comics, all kinds of articles and... erotic stories, every single day at least 1 per day

Oh bewks! I know those. The things we toss in the fireplace when the cabin gets too cold... am I right?

Depends on my mood and if I'm reading a series. I'll get in beast mode at times and do four or five in a couple of weeks, if I otherwise have the time. I find I did a lot more reading when I was traveling more for business - I became too self conscious of my snoring/apnea to sleep on flights, so I just read all the time. Never flew with fewer than two books, and it's why my collection has so many paperbacks.

I used to read quite a bit when I was younger, but now I only read occasionally because I have a hard time focusing on the page. Recently started reading A Game of Thrones and I am about halfway through it. Pretty good read imo.

I have been tempted to read that before, but with George unwilling to go back to it, it will remain forever unfinished. Just to remind everyone: The last book came out in 2011 and he has to write at least two more. Just not going to happen.

1-5 books per year... currently i'm reading Dracula, and i'm lovin' it!

I read a few novels a year, coupled with some light novels, web toons, and manga.

I also listen to some audiobooks too, if that counts? I am just getting into those though.

When I was younger I actually read much more, to the point that my room was wall to wall bookshelves, and the spaces above my bed and desk had bookshelves with sturdy brackets holding them in place. The floor of my closet was books up until about my waist, with the doorway clear and access to my clothes. I had a serious addiction problem.

I find a lot of modern novels to be idealistic political drivel now though. Always some blatant, poorly disguised politics. It's exhausting and a good part of the reason I don't read as much anymore.

I'm illiterate, I can't read.

Ok fine, serious answer. Currently I've only read 2 books in the past 5 years. I've been meaning to get back into reading as a past time where I was spending a couple hours a day reading recreationally.

If you include web novels, light novels etc then 6-10.

What I read mostly is fantasy and history.

currently reading the path of kings, by brandon sanderson. loving it!

Lots of fantasy and sci-fi with a bunch of history mixed in. I've gotten into some books on Royal Road lately, some good neverending series on there.
