The old one stopped at something like version 22.02 or something. A bunch of 2s. This is a new remake that is still ongoing, albeit super slowly.

Anyone know more details tho, I'm also very interested in this game getting a proper rebuild

yeah, I noticed that it's super slow! and then I just stopped checking for it. I think it would take like 2yrs more. It's just pure speculation on my part.

Exact same boat lol. Big Brother and Bad Bobby are the two games I check on every, like, year or so, find out a new remake has been created and already abandoned, and then go another year before checking back in for the same thing. Such a shame.

I think you are talking about a different game.
This is "another story".
The last old build was v0.09.2.03

The rebuild currently is at 0.07.01, but has a very different numbering from the old one, story, characters and game content are different too.


And yes, Alexey is not happy with the development speed. Some time ago he told his supporters to go back to the minimum payment if they want to continue.

I don't know about that. Fact is that he heavily underestimated the work needed for the rebuild. As good as his vision for the game and his intentions may be (and I personally like the visual style), he is not a talented coder or good at predictions.

But if it was him implementing the mini games, at least he seems to become better at coding. Hopefully the next release will mark the end of Chapter One.

well, at least he's showing progress if nothing else...unlike some other devs which won't say who! :}

I discovered that it has so many versions, one forms unity, another that has been playing for a long time and now I see a remake.
This game is not so bad, to pass the time and it is still appreciated :v

So is all the new stuff for NTR routes? I remember playing this game a couple years ago and did all i could on the non-ntr route. I remember seeing one of these big brother games that was still getting updates but that was all NTR stuff.

It depends what you consider to be the original.
DarkSilver's Big Brother got one Remake called Big Brother Ren'Py Remake.
Also there is Glamour which basically was supposed to replace Big Brother.

There are some other games like Big Brother in Space and Little Sister that are inspired by Big Brother.


Alexey90s "Big Brother Another Story" originally was supposed to be an extension to Dark Silvers game, but in the end he redesigned it from scratch in Ren'Py, including stuff that was not in Dark Silver's Big Brother and cutting other elements.
"Big Brother Another Story - Rebuild" is the first remake of "Big Brother Another Story". It is going to some significant gameplay changes, introducing new story elements and minigames (yay!), Nax dreaming and so on (I think the dreams are a compromise, because it will take some time until he's having actual interactions with any of the three main ladies).


And yes, development is not going as it was supposed to. Alexey himself seemed to be frustrated by it and told his suporters to reduce their payments or stop them.
