Regular games it's Sims 3. For adult games the criteria for sandbox is a pretty low bar by technicalities - yet I'll throw in Confined with Goddesses none-the-less.

Edit: Totally slipped my mind until I brought it up in another thread - Ark would beat Sims 3 for favourite regular sandbox for me

Even within sandboxes, there is a lot of difference... I would say that in terms of complete construction, Vintage Story and Hytale are the best because of all the tools they have.

But if we're not talking about that type of construction, The Sims in general are some of the best out there.

When it comes to pure sandbox as a whole, even though I don't play myself, Minecraft. It's pure freedom to do anything, be it vanilla or with tons of mods.

For me, crusader kings, stellaris and etc. Could also add satisfactory.

Wasn't that game originally going to be incest based and then Patreon got all pissy, so instead of switching it to subscribestar they just removed the incest portion?
