for those running on Linux here are some tinker steps required as the DLL load order in Wine/Proton is different then in Windows. You basically need to tell the runtime to prefer the provided version.dll over the one installed in your prefix.

If running directly with Wine:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b" wine ijiboku.exe

If running in Lutris (e.g. with Proton or Proton-GE):
- Open the configuration dialogue of the game
- Go to the Runner options tab
- Add a new DLL override (Key: version, Value: n,b)

For those wondering, what "n,b" means: n stands for native (the file in your game directory) and b for buitin (the file already provided by your Wine or Proton prefix).

From what I read you might also need to install the C++ Runtime Redistributables in the prefix but I did not test, if it works without. If you need to install them you may use winetricks (you might need to install that tool):

WINEPREFIX=/path/to/your/prefix winetricks vcrun2022

This will install the current Visual C++ Runtime Redistributables into the prefix provided.
