Does anyone else mute their audio while playing AVNs or is it just me? In my opinion, the sound effects/voices are more of a distraction than bonus stimulation.
If not, do share what games you think are worthy of staying fully audible.
I mute most games, because I usually have the TV on as well.

I usually mute the music of porn games.
What's funny about this is that some games actually put the SFX in the same group as music.

I also like to turn on the sound but only when I'm alone. It's great when watching an erotic scene and having melodious sounds add to the atmosphere.

There has been only 1 VN I played with music and that is Leap of Faith. Other than that I ALWAYS turn all music and sound OFF.

Music can be a great addition, if well curated. I'll usually at least try it out if they bothered to try it out.

Voice acting I've encountered in AVN is very hit or miss. Some are suprisingly good and other seem like they gave someone a script and directed "Read this as monotone as possible and be sure you have no idea what's going on in the scene."

The worst is the voice audio clips. The "Ooh", "*Giggle*", "Yeah!", "No!", etc. Especially in games where they've linked them to EVERY statement a character makes.
I know exactly what you mean with those clips lol

most have pretty bad audio tbh

I don't mute the music.
For example in Malignant the songs (Portishead to name one) is so well chosen and implemented in the game.
Some of the music choices in Radiant are very nice as well.

There are some games that use the generic music. I don't like that v ery much, but it's still better then the silence :)

I mute audio and music. If someone wants to make a Baldur's Gate 3 level porn game I might consider it...actually if they could get the narrator from that game to do a porn game that would be amazing.

Always mute the music, typically just find it annoying. Usually also mute the other sounds, but will occasionally set them to a very low level for background sounds.

99 times out of 100 I mute games. Instead, I put on jazz instrumentals from my personal music library.

I mute the audio 99% of the time the exception being if the music is varied and of quality or if the game has sounds for the sex scenes that aren't annoying and repetitive

If the music/sound effects are really easy on the ears I'll just turn it down low. For voices it's rare to the voice acting to be good in a VN.

I love it when they talk dirty to me in my ear holes.

I don't know about music, it is usually hit or miss depending on the dev's taste, but sound effects, especially sex sound effects add a LOT to a game. They easily increase the enjoyment so much that I wish it was a bigger priority in games development.

The audio is one of the most important parts; Playing a mute game is really boring.

i usually mute the sound but sometimes a game will have a decent soundtrack or it wont have dumb sex noises out of nowhere
