Some time before the AI art games started to appear in numbers, I was seeing lazy Koikatsu games left and right. As of this year of 2026, I still see lazy Koikatsu games being created. The AI games I see appear to be lazy due to the same style of art they all use. The only one I've seen so far that appears different and not lazy is REC, which uses pixel art, yet is labeled as AI-CG. From what I've payed so far from an older demo, that game was AI art done right, unlike most I have seen so far.

Yes REC is a great game, I think this mention is there because AI has been used in some places, but as far as i know most of the pixel visuals have been handcrafted

The credit card thing hit hard the community of this kind of games, because it was not just incest it was all the perception of doing money by making porn games. and i dont know i remember playing porn flash games and they were fun, even now for me a game doesn't need to have the best graphics or story to be good, always loved the build ups and situations, manwha from korea is getting really good at it and they putting a lot of money on those artist.

Sadly I can't add much because others have already said what I would, but to reinforce the sentiment; it does sound a lot like burn out rather than you being cooked.

Though I will say, AI in general increased the quantity of games being released because it lowered the bar for entry, so the average quality across the industry probably has declined.

That doesn't mean quality games aren't being made, it'll just be harder to find them through the increasing amounts of slop.

Not only in adult games. We had a videogame industry crash for this exact reason (and some will say we're on the brink of another). Something good attracts people, generate income, more and more people will try and most attempts will be questionable, to say the least. The thing is: don't let this get on your head. You don't have time to play all games anyway, pick one or two you like and enjoy. And if you wanna make your own game, go for it, do your best, improve.

The decrease in the quality of games and VN posted here and on similar sites is only a small part of the overall degradation of popular culture. These games are of interest to a limited number of people, but why is the world cinema degrading? You can even name the time interval when the degradation in cinema began - this is 2010-2012, and this is a global process, it is not limited solely to Hollywood. The same applies to literature. This is another major issue of internet, even here by some degree: people wanna look beautiful on internet. ALL THE TIME. People forget that they make mistakes, you make, so do I. People forget that you can't follow all the laws all the time, you must live in a cave for this. That the world is diverse and everything can be debatable. All that matters is their image. Recently we had the Wolverine and Sweet Baby Inc. controversy. You take the game of a guy who slices people for a living, wants to bang his friend's woman, drinks and smokes like there's no tomorrow, and had the nerve to think "we have to make this game look like OUR standarts". And money, of course. We need money to live, but it's not above people.
