Something to be said when the whole theater goes wild and hoots during a climactic scene. Like when Batman with Michael Keaton, there's a scene where the bat plane flies up through the clouds and is centered over the moon, the crowd went wild. But watching it at home wasn't nearly the same....

I have always wondered if cinema is truly dead or if tastes have changed, I only know that before it was a difficult decision which movie to choose and now with luck there are two or three that catch my attention in a year.

What I can say is that horror movies are dead, if not very close, they no longer release good movies, not to mention forgetting the classics about vampires, zombies, werewolves, etc... when I say this, many people say "everything that could be done with it has already been written", on the one hand I will only say that this is just a lack of imagination and the fear of innovating because today a failure at the box office is more deadly than before, but although that If it were true, it doesn't mean that you can't do a good job even if you don't innovate, I mean, look at the action and romance genre, most of their movies have followed the same guidelines for a long time and no one complains or stops watching them.

nahh a lot of people still like to go out and see movies the Oppenheimer + barbie combo proved that. Much more fun and memorable then just watching it at home plus easier to watch since i dont need to sign up for some random service i dont want just to see 1 movie.
You can sail the high seas instead of signing up for services, like everyone else...

3 times a year a go to theater i think it gets harder for someone to go if you have good tv at your house

I haven't seen a great movie in such a long time. seeing movies that use old jokes and old or bad ideas are the only thing out. I fall sleep at oscar won movies. but 90 percent cgi is the worst.. I lose so many IQ's watching those ridiculous movies.. what do you think about movies that have been out the last 5 years.. thank you for your time thank you for reading my thread
Maybe the trick is not to think while watching movies, or compensate with a good book.
The best movies though run in the head 😅

I don't know, I don't think my mind could conjure up a movie as err.. interesting as any of Neil Breen's filmography.

Weird, somehow im now more curious about the movies in your mind than whoever Neil Breen is 😂

They've been dead to me for decades.

Same here. My last cinema experience was watching deadpool on valentine's day. That was .. eight years ago I think.
My last was Forrest Gump when it came out. That's 30 years ago.

It is hard to know these days what can be considered political or not especially if you take language barrier into account.
I'll admit that my posts may have danced on that fine line and even crossed it few times, so I'll refrain from such comments in future, no need to lock it.
Mea culpa.

With the increased size of televisions the need for big screen has diminished. And even back then I was never big fan of going to movies. I think last movie I've seen on theater was Last of the Mohicans (1992).

I had to pee twice during Oppenheimer. Nice have the pause feature and a bathroom that doesn't take 10 minutes to get in and out of.

Well .. I'm really looking forward to Furiosa!

I started watching the entire Mad Max saga from the beginning... again!

WITNESS ME!!!!

There used to be 4-5 one screen cinemas where I live, now there is one, and 3 multi ones(from 6 screens in the smallest to 20 in the biggest), now there is one. I hope someone knew how to do the math
