Um yeah. What is happening has nothing to do with 'going woke'. It has everything to do with the pursuit of shareholder profit.

It certainly can be said that the sweetbaby crap hurt individual companies for a period of time....and we are talking about individual releases here, but the game industry as a whole has a completely different problem. Just look at the live service trend, the loot crate saga, ads in games, the milking of franchises to death, the rereleases of games, crap ports, and the purchasing of studios to minimize competition.

And then on top of that the fact that the people making these poor decisions always seem to fail upwards.

AAA games are all the same. Unironically some Ren'Py games on this site have a more interesting Gameplay than some of these games sold for sixty bucks

I've seen it happen in the 70's and 80's. It's not pretty and all the signs point at maybe.

Anyway a tip for any amateur studio don't sell as it's the first step to destroying everything you built.

Profit greedy companies man. That's just it. They thought going woke will sell their game to the wokies but gaming wokies is no no. Gaming gamer is yesses but no like wokies. I hope it crash and it crash hard. I saved so much bought a decent pc to play games at 100hz 2k but every game is shit now . Nowadays just porn game, youtube and batllefront2.

they're just doing what they're good at, sony shooting itself in the foot. microsoft burning money like what they usually do. epic is slowly burning money with free games hoping that in the next 10 years the kids would grow up and keep using EGS.

The big game studios started with a few people enjoying making games. Those people are not in charge. It's time for the bloated AAA studios to die so the rising indie studios can take their place. I haven't bought a AAA game is several years and that will probably continue until their quality and monetization strategies change for the better.

But AA and indie imo are thriving more now than ever.
Those AAA devs know what they need to do to fix their games, but the suits on the top floor meddles too much.

All I can hope is for more indie games to experiment more and stop being all clumped in similar genres.

I am to an extent, I am happy to see trash crashing and burning with the garbage they try to sell. I am not happy to see the everyday person lose their job though as a lot of times the big boys are the ones that force all this crap into the games and they don't care as they have golden parachutes if the game/company gets closed. There used to be a lot of companies that I would buy anything they put out, but now the only company that I do that with anymore is FromSoftware.

I am really fucking sick of them releasing broken, generic games riddled with microtransactions.

It's sad that the developers have to lose their jobs because of shitty management though.
