Anyone else actually a fan of the grinding games?

Nah, hate them. I want a bit of a barrier to content but not so much that it's taking me hours to get there.

I am 50/50 on sandbox grinding games. The people that developed "The treasure of Nadia" is my favorite and "Love sex & second base" are the only ones that I care for.

As long as the grind isn't too boring, for example Love & Sex: Second Base is super grindy but at least it's somewhat entertaining.
Yup that's on my list next to "The treasure of nadia"

i'm fine with a bit of grinding if needed for shit, but most get to be too much and it feels like im doing the same minigame over and over again and losing my sanity

Treasure of Nadia and Love of Magic both work because they are good enough games to be entertaining even with the adult content removed. Basically, they're good games that happen to also have porn in them.
But just grinding for money or stats to get to the girls is a turn off.
Some grind is okay if it's essential to the story or is actually fun on its own, otherwise no.

I like grind but It reserves a good reward

Nope. Time is a limited resource. Grinding exists only to pad the length of something. And I have long since passed the point in my life where I can be fucked wasting it on such nonsense.

I believe there is a fundamental reason for every cliché mechanic in game design to exist. They all serve a purpose in creating a certain style of gameplay. The problem that some Adult developers run into is that they fail to adopt traditional Game Design standards into what they make. I.E. they don't think "why am I adding a grind mechanic into progressing this event. What effect does this have on the gameplay, and the player, to have them repeat this event over and over again? Does this event even make sense repeated? Does this make the actual moment to moment feel any better?"

I think it's so important for devs to remember that these are interactive games, and just like how your every day AV follows the basic tenets of filmmaking to compose a shot (albeit in this most basic iterations) you need to think about the basic tents of game design when it comes to mechanics building.

Thank you for reading my dissertation on grind in adult games.

I like grinding. Gives me a feeling of accomplishment when reaching a milestone

No. I fucking HATE that shit. It should be a tag so it can be avoided. One of the worst things a dev can do, along with unavoidable ntr and/or futa.

It depends on the game mechanics or whether the grind itself is fun. Kinetik novels don't have a grind, but sometimes have long texts without building up tension so that you almost fall asleep while clicking.

In any game grind is bad, especially adult. As to kinetic novels, they are NOT games and they suck the festering cum out of a dead skunks rotting dick. If I wanted something that wasn't interactive I'd just watch porn.

Only if the grind is accompanied by a great story. Otherwise grind for the grinds sake is pointless.

REALLY depends on how grindy it is and whether the mechanics are obvious. Mystwood Manor is kind of grindy but it has fun gameplay.
