What engine does dumb koala use to make characters?

If you only had to be able to programme, game development would be a piece of cake. You have to be able to do so much more.

Yes but it's such an big undertaking that I'd settle with just personal projects.

I'm quite interest in behind the scenes of making a VN but i never wanted to do it myself. I just enjoy watching people doing something they enjoy. Watched a stream of STWAdev once where he set up a scene, So much work goes into it its insane .

I know I'd lose interest long before I finished and the project would end up abandoned.

I actually wrote a whole script for a game and developed it all, but then I couldn't do the 3D art with DAZ because my machine can't support it. So I asked for help and someone actually contacted me and was interested in doing it, however that was a month ago and he kinda just did 2 scenes and never heard from him anymore. but I haven't lost hope, I mean I did say he could work on his own time ig. 😭 (its was voluntary work btw so no hate to the guy)

I did try a few years ago, enjoyed the 3D Modelling aspect and initially had made a few tutorial games in C++. Then discovered how much easier it is with UE4 (at the time) with blueprints, the free assets and materials etc. Just kept losing focus due to work etc, really need to be dedicated. Lots of respect to the devs who get it right (y)

looks interesting, like everything that make money i've think about it a lot, but seems hard to stand out from the masses

I have thought about it, but currently there's simply no time for dedicating my time towards it unless it's making a decent amount of money, but I doubt anyone will pay me to learn game dev... I already waste too much time on my YT channel which is nowhere near making money as well, so I decided not to add one more huge time sink without any benefit. Eventually I might try rendering pictures for fun.

Only in theory.
While i could be a decent writer, i lack the time to learn coding and the talent to make any kind of arts -,-

Honestly I wouldnt mind, I have the time and the idea for a game, only need to learn programming but a single python tutorial with "hi world" prouved a little difficult so I gave up, but im definitaly trying this summer

I'm planning to do this pretty seriously, like possible as my main source of income when I retire in a couple of years. I'm already a professional dev and was a writer for 9 years. The art and video work is gonna be the hard part.
That, and at some point I need to actually try making one to see if I like it.

I could work on the programming side, but the graphics part is way outside of my skills

Nope, infinite respect to those who create gems for us, but I'm happy to be a consumer!

I've tried to learn about coding with a few tutorial videos about Ren'Py but gave up a bit too quickly. I wrote the base for a porn-based corruption story with characters and their personalities, traits and what their personal goals were but without having any coding experience or any art skills/rendering skill I feel like I may be capable of writing some smut but am far from making an actual game. Have you ever tried your hand at game developing; and for any Game devs already out there, which part of game developing do you think you're strongest at?
I actually think about it. But not yet seriously.
What does it take to become one?

Knowledge of coding? Some programs? I think the hardest part for me is doing render, as it seems.
