  • Donation Rewards & Vault Credit System Update
A new important update has been posted covering the Donation Rewards bug, the reset of incorrect Donation and Platinum credits, the upcoming reclaim system for previous tracked donations, and the new Vault freeze/maintenance behavior. The goal is to remove bug-generated credits, protect real donation history, and rebuild the system in a cleaner and safer way going forward. - Jack Of Blades

16 bit and SNES had the best RPGs man, Super Mario RPG was the apex of video gaming. Cyborg Justice on Genesis was badass as well.

Old 16 bit games? The 16 bit era isn't that long ago, is it? Old games are 8 bit in my book. ;-)
What was Commodore 64? And Atari 2600?

Well, I like the art style, but most games run terribly on modern machines. It is really hard to get them to run sometimes.

The older (pre Windows) ones have emulators.

Me, me! I love the look of all pixel games, especially the old ones. Actually enjoying playing them is a different matter, though. Still, I’ll always love my Pokémon Crystal.

Ofc! Early Final Fantasy's, Chrono Trigger, the first Shin Megami Tensei, Castlevania, Earthbound, so many great early games :3

(Also Wizardry 1 is a personal fave of mine <3)

Well there's a shortlist of my very favorites if I ever saw one.
FF1 is always a wonderful replay, but 4-6 are classics for a reason and things do feel dated storywise going through them again now, but man, the artstyles and overall experience is unbeatable.
16-bit Castlevania is timeless. Rondo walked so SOTN could run. Bloodlines is probably my most concrete Castlevania memory when Simon's Theme started to play climbing the stairs to Dracula as John.
SMT and Kyuuyaku are the best dungeon crawlers ever made (sorry, Wizardry. ;) ) Spawned one of the strongest series in video gaming.
Chrono Trigger and Earthbound are legends for a reason.
Plus, the original friggin' StarFox. F-Zero. Super fucking Metroid. Link to the fucking Past.

The SNES/Genesis/Mega Drive years are gaming. Everything else since is iterations, sequels, plenty of incredible stuff. But the SNES is where the hobby became real magic. And it did so looking good enough to be timeless. (I struggle to tolerate 8-bit)

I agree, most of my faves are between the years of SNES to PS1 (even if my top 3 is all 2010 onwards :3) and that's without much nostalgia (my first console was PS3 <3)

Forgot to mention Metroid in my list but defi should have as well :3
(and I'll fight you on the Wizardry comment )

Oh man, if we open it up to PS1? That's it, game over. 16 and 32 bit together and you've got like 80% of the GOATs. Ace Combat 2. Xenogears. FF7-9. Symphony of the Night. Silent Hill. Resident Fucking Evil. I STILL don't understand Parasite Eve and I love that sense of mystery. Include 64? Goldeneye? Rogue Squadron? Too much. Too good. Lifetime of gameplay. Never bored.

Hey, Wizardry ain't bad! It just ain't SMT is all. ;)

(Full disclosure: I have never once played a Wizardry game.)

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Chrono Trigger
FF6
Terranigma
Actraiser 1 & 2
Super Mario RPG
Secret of Mana
Super Mario World
Donkey Kong Country series ;)

I've still got my copy of Nobunagas Ambition and Dragon Warrior for the NES even though I dont have the console anymore. I love retro games and go back to them any time I can whether they are 8 bit, 16 bit, or any other kind. As for 16 bit, my favorite is probably Super Battleship. Turn based strategy with a live battle mechanic? Yes please.

I still have all my consoles going all the way back to NES. I also built a retro arcade machine which has all the old school arcade games in it.

if metal slug count then yes.
