The US-Defaultism phenomenon is kinda amusing. But I really get the point. Probably most user here are from the US.I've had foods from the Americas, many Western European countries and Eastern European countries, Southern Asia, Southeastern Asia, etc.
I don't live in all of those places.
I'm guessing the original comment was thinking that tacos are common enough that people in most countries would've tried them.
For example, I think most people would be shocked to find someone who'd never tried any kind of pizza.
Just looked up, in my city we had a single mexican restaurant, that went insolvent. Just a couple months later the same guy opened another mexican restaurant under another name. The whole food discussion reminds me of a sketch I once saw. Somehow nearly everything is stuffed pasta with meat to some extent.
