Ok, that does sound a little... weird. But I've had things like "apple pie" pizza and "cinnamon roll" pizza which were quite tasty.

Admittedly stretching the concept of pizza a bit, more like flatbreads or tarts or something, but the menu called them pizzas!

I'd call them tarts as well, but maybe the restaurant wanted to cater to subconscious of a wider audience? A pizza is more recognizable than a tart in the vast majority of the world, no?

Yes tomatoes are fruits but the sauce is simmered with spices and other additives that it's no longer a fruit.

Well, I sometimes eat a pizza with tomatoes (whole or sliced, depending on the tomato/pizza) on top besides the sauce. There is also "green" sauce in opposition to the "red" one.
