I think AI animatilns look weird... but I somewhat hope they'll not improve. If animations become too good, it might be enough to scam even more old people. Imagine your grand parents getting a whole video call with your face in it... now that I think about it, this should already work...

Deepfakes are already amazing, if you take one's body and the other only scans the face you can easily get fooled...expecially if it's a call where you can stand still without having to move your head too much
