The Longest Day: D-Day - June 6. 1944
I've always been interested in history, particularly WW2 - the uncle I'm named after died in France as part of the American Expeditionary Force in November, 1944.
As I'm posting this, it would have been about 2 and a half hours since the landings started in Normandy for Operation Overlord 81 years ago. If you see this, take a moment to be thankful for the sacrifices made on that day - and for many months thereafter. Those that were there and survived that day are now nearly all gone. Think upon them and any family you may have lost - and never forget or discount the sacrifices made in that generation.
