It is morel time here as well right now though as of yet - no success this year. I also do Puffballs , Hen of the woods, Pheasant backs, Chicken of the woods and Chanterelles. I often forage asparagus and fiddle heads as well. I like the combination of free food and exercise .

That's a lot more than I know about foraging, good though. I wish I had gotten into it, years ago, I can't imagine how much I have walked by hunting and other stuff.
I did a quick look at one you mentioned, and it scared me some... Fiddle Heads

allergies hit pretty bad today. my eyes are so red, if only i could use that to read in bed, but i guess i'll just wash them a few more times - but I definitely am going to leave some time soon, too...

I feel that. It's such a miserable time of year for allergies, I feel like I'm dying half of the days

I have no idea, I'm sure uncbuck will answer. I never heard of them and they look spooky at first glance.
As far as preparing them, Probably lightly fried in lots of butter and garlic. Most of the veggies I cook taste like Butter and Garlic...

Random thought of they day: What if we live in a video game and the reason we get insomnia and can't sleep is because there is a hostile creature close and we "can't preform that action right now".

If that is the case I'll probably tell my player to git good or lower the difficulty because so far this playthrough sucks.
