Depression is real and a long fight. I don't think I've ever truly had to face it, but I know people who have had to fight it and it's always a struggle to watch them face their demons unable to truly offer assistance.

It's really good to have allies for people with depression that try to understand it and support them. You are my hero!

Having perspective and being supportive are both really good tools for helping others in that space. Plus being depressed and interacting with other depressed folk can sometimes work like an echo chamber or amplifier. It’s good to have outside people sometimes who are happy especially when you’re in a headspace of wanting to get away from the depression.

Lovely community here back reading on some of the mental health talk and I wouldn’t expect a forum like this to have such grounded and wholesome takes. Love y’all

Man. Depression is a slow and tedious fight. You may even end up unknowingly pushing away your friend and family. But fret not this time too shall pass. As do most things in life and you shall emerge stronger than ever.

That's because depression often doesn't go away, so days are better or worse than others. It also lies to you and makes you feel worthless etc. Most of society makes you feel like a burden etc. I've struggled with it my whole life.

I know you said it was your brother helping you motivate but even still you should be very proud of yourself. It's hard to keep up that determination and routine when it comes to the gym (at least it is for me) plus you said how you struggle with social situations so that makes it even more impressive to me, good job.

Having my brother there helps a lot too.
He's much more sociable and such, so it takes a lot of weight off
