Yep -- gotta be much more specific as to species or it's not informative The most common usage refers to harvestmen, which are arachnids but not spiders. They have long, thin legs and a single body segment, distinct from the two-segmented bodies of spiders. The term is also used for crane flies, which are insects, The picture was of a Opilione, The Opiliones are an order of arachnids, colloquially known as harvestmen, harvesters, harvest spiders, or daddy longlegs. As of July 2024, over 6,650 species of harvestmen have been discovered worldwide, although the total number of extant species may exceed 10,000. Basically if it only has one segment -- It's an Opilione - to go beyond that gotta hit the checklists
Around here what gets called "daddy long legs" is either a type of harvestmen or the "cellar spider" - though it's not a spider.

That has LONG been a kink of mine . When I was in 9th grade my home room teacher was my first exposure to a really REALLY hot teacher. It was her first teaching gig so she was only 4 or 5 years older than me, She had fiery red hair that she kept in a braid which reached her waist. Piercing blue eyes and delightful freckles. We are actually now Facebook friends many MANY years (decades) later . She looked a lot like Molly Quinn
Well, that's good, next time you don't have to make one with white sauce then.
Bye baka see you next time!
I can honestly say that I did not understand a single word or your explanation for him -- But damn -- I am impressed at your helpfulness and thoroughness none the less.

Sounds like someone that would be hard to not have a crush on, I certainly would have as well. I've always had a special thing for redheads, even though I used to be a ginger myself (bald now). That has LONG been a kink of mine . You are correct sir -- Cellar spiders are indeed sometimes called daddy long legs and they are indeed a true spider - I stand semi-corrected
Whimper -- yessssssssssssssssssss darker red and more freckles but that is close - I never forgave her for marrying the disciplinary principle a few years later (though that did spark some fantasies) but he is dead now so "comme ci, comme ça"
Looking -- - looking -- unfortunately that is from my archived "yummy" folder -- have no idea where it came from or who she is - but I always have liked her, and liked the idea that she is out there -- somewhere - so I continue to wait for her.
