Evening, you beautiful degenerates. Hope you all had a good day today.

We had our first rain since winter today and it was a proper storm. The sky was beautiful with lightning arcing overhead. My son and I climbed up on to the roof together and enjoyed the storm. He shares my love of the rain, big storms especially and it was nice to share a moment that wasn't video games or movies.

Honestly a bit jaded, Unc. While largely true in a lot of (if not the vast majority) of cases, there are plenty of people who rise up from little or nothing. My father's side of the family, including me, are living proof. Italian immigrants, poor for generations. Slowly but surely we've crawled out of that hole as a family and while we're far from "rich", I have enough money to take care of my parents, my wife, and my children - comfortably. While others around us who have had much more and some would easily call rich have lost it all, squandered it all or just stopped caring about money. Life is a constant game of leapfrog.

Then, as Slum replied to you, there are others who have risen to proper power from rags.

As far as the forum goes, this is all just fun. My goal is P5 and a million in the bank and once I get there I'll be satisfied with the little game of coins. The real wealth of this website is each one of you.

Same goes for my blood family. I could lose everything tomorrow and I'd still consider myself the richest man in the world because I'd still have them.

What was your favorite activity when you were a kid?

Hm.. well, I was blessed with a diverse group friends growing up though I don't speak to most of them anymore (don't worry, no sad stories there - just people moving on and starting new lives) but I used to love spending time with my friends. We'd roam around the town until well after dark and it felt like going on an adventure every time.

I used to game with my little brother a lot when we were younger. The original Doom and Quake, then later a LOT of Rainbow Six. We even got so good together that we joined up with a clan and made it into a few tournaments before e-sports were a thing. Made a couple thousand dollars before the clan splintered and we lost interest.

Those two things are probably the fondest activities I can recall right now but I can't say I have a single favorite.

You don't need to have any words about it, Tleilax. They're my scars (some literal ones in this case) and they're mine to bear, not yours. Like I told Kaity, I didn't share for anyone to feel bad or sorry for me. Not quite I'm afraid, I'm talking about the mobile games, Union X and Dark Road. I mean, technically 2.8 has Back Cover, which is essentially a condensed bit of Union X in a movie form, explaining the lore of the Apprentices of the Master of Masters and the infighting that lead to the downfall and fracturing of the world into several disparate pieces, but that's like a tiny part of the story of Union X and a lot of very important pieces of lore for kingdom hearts is locked away in a now unplayable mobile game. Same with Dark Road which is in a similar position, being a sequel to said game and being about Xehanort's youth and how he grew into the man who'd become the overarching villain of the series. Lots of important lore and story .. stuck in a mobile game that's not really playable.

Also, 358/2 Days and Re:Coded aren't ported either, it's just that 1.5+2.5 Remix has their cutscenes because Square enix didn't want to bother porting the ds games over to PlayStation then PC like they did with the 3ds game Dream Drop Distance in 2.8. Having an actual port/remaster for Days and Re:Coded would be spectacular because Days has a wonderful story and Re:Coded has a genuinely brilliant leveling/command deck system from the team behind Birth By Sleep that I wish got more respect than it has in the fandom.

But, I'm usually up to try most things.

Survival Horror games (Resident Evil)
Automation games (Satisfactory)
Survival games (Ark Survival Evolved)
