discussion Anti-Social & Lurker - Hideout spot

[Underlord]

The problem with that is that it is a continuously moving goal -- But the time you reach it the high rollers already have twice as much. Rich today is rich tomorrow -- While the middle class may accumulate larger sums of money -- they will never catch up and be among the rich.

IDK I have seen middle class soldiers take over a country become Interim president and effectively become ruler for life....
Just saying taking over a 3rd world country can make middle class super rich...you just need to put the nations wealth somewhere...
After a few years make sure you do not hold on to power and exit when you need to in some country that will give you asylum for some money.
Then you are free to tap into your extra legal seizures from your old country haha.

Can anyone give me a quick summary of the last 2 weeks chat?

I would love to --- but -- to be honest - I could not give you a quick summery of the last ten hours chat.

Alright, you beautiful degenerates, here's my catching up with all the missed Kitty Questions of the Day!

@KaityCat , @Hexborn_Magus , @LizBell - Thank you all for doing these. They've been a really fun addition to the thread and I'm sorry I've missed so many. I know all three of you would say it's fine, but still.. <3

---

Bonjour chers amis! Believe it or not, we've come to the final @KaityCat

Spoiler: Kitty Question of the Day

OK everyone here it is! the........

Spoiler: Kitty Question of the Day!!!!!

What's one thing that would instantly make your day better? (Money isn't allowed!!!)

Outside of the obvious answer being the thing I am blessed to come home to every day, the next answer would be this community and especially certain members of it. I've said it before and I'll say it many times more, this community is amazing and it brightens my days to come home, spend time with my family and then relax being a part of this second family as well.

---

Who's ready for the..........

Spoiler: Kitty Question of the Day!!!!!!!!!

what is your best feature? (either physical or something in your personality. Anything! What do you love about you?)

Honestly, I don't really see myself in a very positive light. I never have, so if it's okay with you Kitten - I am going to hand this one over to my wife. Here's her answer: "His kindness. He is like an overwhelming shadow that wants to hold you instead of suffocate you, and chase the other shadows away. Physically, his eyes are what I love most; he speaks through them more than anything else."

---

I hope people are ready for the

Spoiler: Kitty Question of the Day!!!!!!

if you could be any animal what would it be?

and good morning @LizBell

Hmm.. well, I'll answer this in a few ways since "animal" can be a bit vague.

If we can include any fantastical creature?

A dragon. I've loved them since I was a boy and if I could be any creature at all - that would be it.

If we can't include fantastical creatures?

A raven. "Old Raven" is one of my nicknames IRL because of how I look and dress, combined with people knowing I've always loved crows and ravens.

a few hours earlier than usual but here we are!

Spoiler: Kitty Question of the day!

if you could become anyone for a day, who would it be?

I'll probably be back Monday to find the answers

so send me headpats n cuddles!

Spoiler: And remember

Take care of yourself, you're worth it

I mentioned in a previous answer that I may mention my first daughter in one of your earlier QOTD's and this is the one.

If I could be anyone for a day, I would want to be my first daughter.

She was a gift to me by the ex prior to my wife. At that time, my wife and I lived in separate states and hadn't spoken in years but not by choice. I've had feelings for my wife ever since we were kids and thought I'd never see her again so all of my interactions with women after her were melancholic at best and actively self-destructive at worst. This one started off very self destructive and I should have seen warning signs from the start but I was in a very bad place and this particular ex showed up and seemed very understanding and loving at the time.

We ended up in a relationship which was a rollercoaster to put it mildly and more and more red flags started to show up that something wasn't quite right with her, mentally. (It turned out later, after the attempted stabbing, that she has BPD - Borderline Personality Disorder)

By the time I started seeing the red flags, though, she'd gotten pregnant and I'd already opened up to her about appreciating certain.. Japanese art.. and she seemed accepting.

And then, she had a miscarriage.. and the grief ruined us both but it broke her. I don't know if it just forced the twisted parts of her mind to the surface to be seen or if it was grief and pain that truly broke her but she started blaming me, insinuating that I would have hurt our daughter because I liked this art, and eventually venomously spat out that she was glad our daughter died because she wouldn't want her anywhere near someone "sick" like me. All of this on the same day we learned the news.

I was boiling with rage at her, but all I could do was coldly tell her that anyone that could ever be glad for the death of their child - our little girl - wasn't just a monster but a soulless shell that clearly never felt or could ever feel love, and I walked away and outside - which I usually tried to do in moments like these. Typically after the venom was unleashed, I'd go for a walk or a drive, things would calm in a few hours and we'd get back to some semblance of normality again in a few days.

This time, though, I only got a few steps outside our door - which I slammed HARD which (thankfully) alerted the neighbors - when I heard her scream at me from behind and before I could react she'd already cut me several times before I managed to grab her wrists.

..if I could be anyone, I would want to be my unborn daughter - even if only for a day - so that I could know if she felt happiness at all. Could she hear me singing to her? Did she know I called her my Little Rose? Did she feel any pain..? And if she did.. I'd want to be her for every second of that pain so she would never have to feel it.

---

Just remembered that my fellow cat (Kaity) said that they'll look at the answers for yesterday's "kitty question of the day" on Monday, meaning that there probably won't be a question today... (at least I think so?)
Soooooo...

Spoiler: Shadow kitty question of the day?

If you could relive ANY day in your life, which one would it be?

(I tried to keep it in the same line as Kaity's questions)

I have so many good memories now that I don't think I could ever choose.

So, I suppose I'll just have to say all of them. Even the bad ones, because each and every one of them led me to here, now.

I'd rather relive them all, or none at all, because I wouldn't want to miss any of the other wonderful days.

---

Since @Hexborn_Magus did a serious one I guess I'll...

Spoiler: Silly Kitty question of the day!

why did the kitty cross the road?

Because the chicken had a laser pointer.

---

Time for the

Spoiler: Kitty question of the day!!!!!!

why is @Guz89 so amazing??????

Spoiler: Actual Kitty Question of the day!!!!!

what was your first pet?

Well, that depends. Conventional pet or ANY pet?

Because my first ever pet would be something a lot of people wouldn't consider a pet.

My first pet was a golden silk orb weaver. A little surprise gift from some banana crates my family bought for a big family get together for making banana bread.

Little boy Lazarus saw this big spider crawl out, spinning golden silk and was transfixed with wonder. I begged my father to let me take care of it and he reluctantly agreed but she became a part of the family eventually. Even managed to mostly cure my mother of her arachnophobia. She still isn't a fan, but the "phobia" (the fear) is gone. She held Celeste more than once without issue.

Turned out that the "big" spider little boy Lazarus found would get a whole lot bigger over the course of that year!

---

I missed this one!!!!! -le gasp-

hurray an animal lover! haha what's been your favorite of the "weird" pets?

and it's time for the -drumroll- (I need a Kaity drumroll gif..... help?)

Spoiler: Kitty question of the day!!!

If you could make a new sense (smell, taste, touch, sight, hearing) what would it be?

Hm.. well, given I've lost most of my sense of taste and smell to a botched surgery, I'd love to just get that back.

Outside of that.. I've always wished we could transmit thoughts and/or feelings directly somehow.

Not even in cans? Here in Pennsylvania that's very common.

Think he's talking about just the Mexican Coke. Typically they only export the glass bottles, at least around here and we share a border with them.

In the Philippines we got plastic, glass and can here near me depending on what store. 7/11 has plastic bottle and can while the local store has glass bottles haha.
Restaurant have those overpriced small cans that is like 3-5 times the normal price of a small can haha.
Restaurants are real scam with their drink prices haha

"Restaurants are real scam with their drink prices haha"

Here in America they love to sell you these drinks in big paper or foam cups, and they fill them full
of almost nothing but ice. So you think you are getting this big drink, and what you are getting
is a bunch of ice, restaurants do this to save money. The local KFC and Taco bell place is the worst,
it makes me gag it tastes so bad, I also think some businesses turn on the tap water and add
that to the cup to help fill it up.

Is it local, though, or Mexican? What started this yesterday was Uncbuck talking about "Mexican" Coke, which uses the "original" cane sugar recipe rather than corn syrup. While they can and bottle it all different ways for the Mexican market, I believe only the glass bottles get exported to the US, while the "US" recipe (using corn syrup) is what you find here typically, and mostly in cans and different sizes of plastic (or postmix for fountains). Glass gets used here some, but it tends to be small batch and limited now. So, while we have it in every container type available, for the Mexican Coke, we only have it in the glass bottles around here. All the other container types are US recipe.

This may have flipped, but I don't think so: when you order fountain/postmix soda, the highest "food cost" is usually the disposable cup and the ice.

When I was a kid working at Taco Hell (KFC and Taco Bell are both owned by YUM brands and use Pepsi products), we were told only 1/3 of the cup should be filled with ice for that very reason. But the pricing now is insane - the reason they can afford "free" refills is that you'd probably have to refill nearly a dozen times before you even come close to getting what you paid for and eat through the mark up.

And, as far as I know, almost every TB/KFC now has self-serve soda fountains, so you can control the soda/ice ratio yourself. At least in the US - may be different elsewhere.
