It's more of a "sort of". The coffee bean comes from the coffee cherry. Like chicken or beef broth, where the bones are often roasted before making the broth, the cherry pit (bean) is roasted as well. The main differences are the steeping time and the grinding of the bean - you don't grind the bones. And, before you go all "animal versus plant", one does make vegetable broth out of the the bits of the vegetables that are cast off, and often given a little bit of a roasting as well.

does anyone own an alligator as a pet im very curious or any other exotic animal?

I have quite a bit of experience with exotics. Generally an alligator in particular is an idiot purchase, Cute when it's a hatchling -- then still cute when it outgrows it's tank and you keep it in a kiddie pool or your bath tub, At about 4 or 5 years old it will be maybe 5 feet long, At that point it may be dog tame but just too big to keep for most people, So you either find a wildlife rescue to re-home it or release it into a body of water where it will either die when winter sets in or will be trapped by people that do that sort of thing. If done by the police / wildlife folks this gets really expensive, but there are some people that do it on the cheap. Either way -- the "re-homing" is just to one of a number of alligator farms in the Southeast (in the united states) where your pet "chompers" will eventually be a purse. It's similar to hiring a trapper to remove and relocate raccoons. They may use humane traps to be sure - but it is illegal to release a raccoon in most states -- so as soon as it gets back to the trappers place - it is dead. If you need to remove and relocate a raccoon or skunk or possum and care about it's future do it yourself.
