COVID helped me realise that I didn't actually hate my job, like I previously thought, I just hated being forced into the Office culture and Daily Commute.

Could not agree more. Covid actually was a good thing for me (other than the deaths of a few friends) When it first started I was a few weeks away from retiring. Come Covid and I was deemed an "essential worker" but because they were so worried about us infecting each other they put us on reduced occupancy. So I had to go in 2 times a week and only be present (with maybe 1 or 2 other people widely separated) when needed. So I got paid full wages, for maybe 8 hours of work a week in my deserted lab / office. Delayed my retirement for almost three years.

There was less noise and less people so my autistic ass liked the lockdown.

For the first one, i was at home with full pay and for others i was working part time for the full pay, as we librarians were finally considered essential enough.
