Good morning all - and once again Taco Tuesday rolls around raising the age old question once again - Hard or soft taco? Personally? I like to eat hard tacos -- but with a soft taco on the plate to catch the stuff that falls out - thus giving me an extra taco after I am finished with the hard ones, But I digress -- Good morning all!

More than just that, it's important to be taught that, while war isn't pretty, it's important to know that war should be avoided, until keeping peace means appeasing alligators
Oh yeah totally, those who are ignorant about history are bound to repeat it and whatnot. I just meant overall history, not only war.
History class was always the most fun i've had in school and one of the few i actually liked.
That's being said, it's a parody of famous 18th century french philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau words ("La nature a fait l'homme heureux et bon, mais […] la société le déprave et le rend misérable." : so roughtly translated in english "Humans are good and happy in nature, by society depraved them and make them miserable"): so the guy get credit too, from his tomb.

So you're telling me Rousseau's first name is Jean-Jacques and not Dictionnaire? I've been lied to by the book all these years! :ROFLMAO:

I can only agree with that first statement, i studied history in university and even teach it for a bit in a high school.

The main encyclopedia people were Denis Diderot (which is my favorite philosopher from this period) and Jean Le Rond d'Alembert, not Rousseau.

I loved history in school as well, but I have learned a lot more by simply falling down weird history rabbit holes. You can only teach so much in a class of 30+ students

I had to triple check just to make sure i wasn't being an idiot but there it go
Regardless, i was merely joking because i actually didn't remember his name, only ever see him mentionned as Rousseau, without his first name.

It is more like people are clinging on my past PFP and it makes me always get into the mood for a bit of

Yeah this book is i think a "dictionnaire" of concepts used in Rousseau works but the main encyclopedia ("Encyclopédie ou dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers") was by Diderot and D'Alembert, even if Rousseau maybe write some articles.

Right right, but this is too advanced for my joke about Le Petit Rousseau, or his book.

Oh for sure, but i think many people's interest in history doesn't bloom if the classes early on in school aren't as fun as they were.

Certainly, I simply there's a lot more variables that come into play in a class setting in comparison to an individual setting.
