I just haven't been collecting nearly as much as I should be, have been very busy. But have had some really exciting but overloading stuff going on in my life.

Collected:
15/31 for August
17/30 days for September.
22/31 for October
19/30 November

...Less than I thought I was doing honestly.

Edit: Did the math, missed enough days between August and November that I would have nearly triple my current amount.
Sad part is, the longer it goes, the bigger the gap will be 🙃
That's why i make sure to at least connect 30 minutes before interest collection.

Does this mean he's now Jack-off-the-box?

Next you will be telling me that Game of Thrones was not historically accurate -- All that aside though I do agree with you on Sparticus. I found the series Rome better as it presented Rome as a realistic city as opposed to "Hollyrome".
It's hard to combine accuracy and entertainment. I saw Oppenheimer a few months back and there was some clear inaccuracies, but they made the film much more enjoyable, and I think that's acceptable.

I would have liked some sound with that explosion. Such a huge buildup for...that. Rest of the movie was great though

I prefer to Jack-off-in-the-box especially when giving Christmas presents to colleagues

Always love a shout out to HBO Rome, still wish there was a third season.

Rome is a rare exception. Yes, still quite a few liberties with the female charachters (Atia and Servilia were gone before Ceasar if memory serves me well), but they got a lot of things right. From the colorful architecture to the graffiti, the insulae were the commoners lived and so on. Also the pic you posted comes from the best depiction of late republic/early principate battle tactics ever put on screen.

It's hard to combine accuracy and entertainment. I saw Oppenheimer a few months back and there was some clear inaccuracies, but they made the film much more enjoyable, and I think that's acceptable.

That's exactly the point of my beef with hollywod "history". When it comes to US history everything is spot on with little or no "embelishments" to make history more "interesting".
When it comes history pertaining the rest of world... anything goes... Cleopatra was black and equal to Ceasar in military genius (according to netflix), Commodus and Caracalla were decadent wimps (according to Ridley Scott), it was an american sub who retrive the Enigma in WW2 and the list goes on and on.

Hi Blood, what was that comic for Slum?
(according to netflix), (according to Ridley Scott)
There's your problem, won't go into Netflix but Scott's last good history film was Kingdom of Heaven.

and Hollywood does OK with British history , probably cause same language🤣. Still regret seeing this

How do you mess up Alexander the Great.👿

Well, people write actual history books full of accurate information, but very few people want to read them. Is some good history with some bad history better than no history at all? Would you rather people think an American sub retrieved the enigma machine or have no idea what the enigma machine is at all?

I'm sure that the latter option is already the truth for a lot of people, so, shrug

I don't know why I'm not nearly as active in this thread as I was in the OG one, but in the OG lurker thread I was grinding out 1000-2000 LC a day. I think the old interest rate was 1%, too, but I could be wrong.

Kingdom of Heaven takes a LOT of liberties. I won't call that movie good from an historical standpoint. Anyway sooner or later, I will watch Barbarians from Netflix. It's a German production, so I'm curious to see if they went full 18 hundreds or took a more modern approach.

and Hollywood does OK with British history , probably cause same language🤣.

Unless Hollywood wants to take credit for brits accomplishments (see at the voice Enigma coding machine earlier).

Still regret seeing this

Still the best depiction of an ancient world battle ever. Gaugamela was worth enduring that movie (but I saw it dubbed, so Farrell accent did not spoil it for me).
Well.. the battle and Rosario Dawson.

Telling people that americans retrived the Enigma isn't bad history, it's good propaganda, so, no, I would rather people know that a Brit sub retrived the Enigma. I mean, cracking Enigma was the key to sinking the Bismark, killing Yamamoto, winning at Matapan and so on, not a minor event of WW2 that you can gloss over.
Anyway...

Well when there was 70 pages a day and a whole lot more back-readers making coins was easier, and yeah I remember the guess the AVN game Skinner made in the real OG thread.:)
