Well that's the thing tho, you were working there, not shopping.
Black friday has stampedes and shit on opening, can barely navigate through some stores and alleys, while christmas is just mostly customers being pissed at the workers, but there is nowhere as many people shopping as during black friday

It was definitely more crowded the weekend before Xmas than Black Friday. That was in the mid 1990s though, before online shopping was much of a thing.

Well, under normal circumstances... well, not normal, but ideal.. This wouldn't be a bad thing, on the contrary. More competition is "always" better for the consumer. But instead of competing by offering a better/cheaper service with a bigger catalogue. Companies went the way of the console wars and made their services worse, more expensive and drastically reduced their catalogues in favor of "exclusive content". It's very anti consumer and it's making them shitloads of cash because they already did the math. Every time they make a decision that pisses you off and makes you 'unsubscribe' from their platform, they already figured 5, 10, 20, 100 people won't and that will more than offset the cost of losing you and even bring them plenty of profit.

I forgot about Rogue One actually. And Solo. I loved those 2 movies. Andor is a well written drama series with heavy politics. It just lacked action...and Cassian Andor wasn't as badass as in Rogue One, and pretty much only good for getting his ass kicked. Very well made show but I found it too slow and uneventful. I hope things pick up in S2. I think Mando started rather slow but got really good (action wise I mean, no real story here until S3). Boba and Ahsoka were ok for just some mindless entertainment if you have nothing else to watch. Now The Acolyte...hmm...what's an accurate opinion of this show? Watch it if you want to know what it feels like to have your brain fucked by the Disney company while they simultaneously cut off your dick and shove it up your own ass. Sounds fun in writing but not when you experience it

Interesting, Solo was a huge letdown for me. And yeah, Andor was more about the intense drama. I haven't watched the Acolyte, anyone I talk to has bad things to say about them, and that's even discounting the usual "woke" parroting that you inevitably get from any disney release. I just want more Mando, that shit's dope.

People always say today (Black Friday) is the worst day to go shopping (crowd wise) but when I worked in a store, it was nothing compared to the weekend before Christmas. That was insane. Way more people out and not happy that anything popular was sold out because they waited until the last minute.

I think the black Friday retail stampede era is well and done aside from random trend items like stanley cups. Why stand in line if I can just order it online? Probably for the best, but I still miss the good old days of going to the mall with my friends to spend my min-wage job cash.
