I don't know if you've heard of What Is A Woman 2022. The documentary about transgender rights that the asshole Elon Musk promoted. It's funny as hell for the first half but gets really transphobic by the end. Sarya probably won't like it but it brought up the issue of trans females being able to use the female restrooms and vise versa, which becomes a problem when you start to get guys pretending to be trans just to prey on females. That's a whole other issue on top of gender neutral restrooms. People just have to be extra vigilant with their kids in these changing times. And I hope this doesn't give Conzi any ideas

You point the real problem here: that's cis men and how they treat women. More than 98% of people who commit sexual violence are cis men, almost all the other 2% are cis women, trans folks are less than 1%. Only gender which is largely over-represent in sexual violence is cis men, that's the elephant in the room that almost nobody talk about.

Men got a free pass anyway. A large majority of rapists are never arrest, those who are often got too lax punishment. They don't need to pretend to be trans woman. In fact, if they try they will be treat a lot worse, probably got a larger conviction, so it makes no sense.

This issue isn't with single user restrooms, which people with cognitive skills understand. It's about multi-stall restrooms where some freak could follow your daughter in and spy or molest, and no one would care to notice until it's too late - even though they may see some dude follow in after a kid, some folks won't pay attention or see anything potentially wrong because, "hey, gender neutral - that should be totally fine."

But yeah, agree with you about how dangerous it is for kids of any age

Allow me to clarify. I didn't mean he is an asshole for promoting it. Perhaps I worded that poorly. We were talking about the safety of kids in a public restroom and were both in agreement. The only disagreement was that he likes Musk and I don't. So I said let's agree to disagree as soon as we disagreed about something in order to drop the conversation. Then you posted. When I was younger I liked to go camping with friends, and loved the sound of rain on the tent, and it seemed like a lot of fun. Now, I'm with you. The stupid roof wants to leak somewhere new every year.

For me, it depends on the rain. Heavy and sustained worries me as well. We haven't had much since Beryl, so things are dry and this is a nice intermittent drizzle, so a pleasant rain. If it ramps up for a sustained period, then, yeah, that gets worrisome. I don't worry about the roof, though - it's new since the oak tree crashed through it last year.

Didn't quote the first part, but most fathers (or in my case, as an uncle and Godfather) keep their eyes open for their sons/nephews as well, but some kinds of things are more fraught and potentially problematic than others - like grown men (no matter how they dress) going into a restroom after a little girl/teen/small woman, thus the usual focus of such discussions.

Don't know where you are, but around here, new public use buildings are built with a higher ratio of mens to womens for the last 20 or so years (can't remember the ratio, 1.5 or 2:1), and many older public use buildings have had renovations to increase womens' rooms - the "potty parity" law, or something like that. It came to a head here after several reports of women at concerts or sporting events going to the mens' rooms and using the sinks at times if all the stalls were occupied. Often the women doing this were buzzed or outright drunk, which can and ocassionally did lead to all kinds of other bad things. Which, in a round about way gets me to: if you have to use a gender neutral and can't get a stall, a sink can be a urinal.

It's not that hard to curate what you consume.

But joke aside, I only use uBO and have near 0 issues. Whenever something slips or stops working it usually is just a matter of updating the lists or reporting it on the subreddit and waiting a couple of hours at most. Using multiple extensions that mess with the same stuff is usually a bad idea. Also, uBO has a lot of settings that you can adjust.
