I'm the one who prefers to stay at home, the beginning of the pandemic was easy for me, but after a while, without seeing anyone, it took a lot on me, and was going crazy. My parents had to travel to get me back home.

Sorry to hear about Uncle Tosser. And the Garand is an interesting weapon. Garand-thumb is a thing.

I read about that when I was looking into them on one of the historic weapons boards I used to frequent - wouldn't have deterred me, though, if I'd seen the right one for the right price at the right time. Had a place nearby that specialized in older/collectable firearms and they'd come up from time to time. I do have a 1939 Lugar (Army, all matching except magazines, and with a proper period and service holster) and 1926 Colt Army Special that my grandad got during WW2 (story was he won it in a poker game), some other things not as interesting.
