Sometime ago there were a headset called Necomimi that had cat ears that you controlled with your "brain waves" or some shit, just by wearing the headset.
I don't know if it worked well, but there could be more things like this.

I searched this and read the "technical" description.
It's indeed bullshit, it works by detecting the movement of your forehead with a sensor.
Since you move your forehead with your "brainwaves", it works by reading them... even if second hand

The cost isn't even the real problem, It's that they are imported.
