*A folded piece of paper just hit you in the back of the head. But you see no one who could have thrown it.*
Dear @Shawnchapp, @BeowulfKnight and @mime.
We followed the river, and saw some footprints leading away.
@Guz89 and @anon670-1 were pretty sure they were some Guwnkime.
So we decided to follow them... A little further in, we began to see some light...
And I can say now... The footprints weren't from Guwnknime alone.
The Slumrog, Hellcoon, and The Gul, were standing there "talking" in a weird demonic language.

For some reason I could understand them clearly, but Guz and anon had a hard time with it....
They only understood that they mentioned Guwnknime.
I haven't told them yet, what they said...
They have clearly laid a trap for us, and I know Guz would just jump in, if he knew Guwnknime is right there...
I'm thinking about, what opportunities we have here...
But all three of them are there... So I only see one way, this could end...
And we're not going to like it...

I got some news for ya. I can summon the mods too! I've learned a thing or two since the last time. I know the words to summon them!

Even in real life, it's complex. There is an increasing number of people who build relationship outside of mandatory cishet monogamy. It can be without every people consenting (cheating) or with every people consenting (swinging, open relationship or polyamory).

Speaking as a person who has been cheated on (and my post history can give details), for some, it's not JUST about monogamy being broken.
Explanations to follow via an example.

A couple decides on monogamy Day 1. Person 1 isn't monogamous and sleeps around. Person 2 stays monogamous.
Person 2 loses the most important things of all: time and opportunities. They could have had:
-One night stands
-Week-end wonders
-Two week flings
-Secondary relationships.

All gone. All flushed down the toilet. Time Person 2 will never get back. Opportunities Person 2 will never get back.
They're older. Maybe uglier. Maybe meaner. Weeks / months / years / decades lost. Time and opportunities Person 2 can NEVER get back.

It's not about the monogamy, at least for me.
It's about the lost time/opportunities, based on a lie, that some societies no longer punish (infidelity no longer removes alimony in some countries).

All preventable, by Day 1 open relationships, or a variant thereof as Sarya astutely said.
But RL cheating... NTR games... I think I should stop now to not have mods need to edit this. But I hope people get my point amid the rambling.

Man, I very briefly was into AI artwork and SD and all that.

I ended up, through a series of unfortunate events, upgrading my existing computer entirely over a few weeks (in fact, my old computer got reconstituted in it's original entirety...) simply because I bought something to potentially maybe mprove my SD render time on something, and then realized X was a bottleneck, and then Y was a new bottleneck, and then Z was a new bottleneck...

Now, after like... 5-6 weeks of pretending like I cared about SD, I have an amount of RAM that wouldn't be out of place in a small business class server and a 4090 and I pretty much play Minesweeper and check email...

Yeah i see what you mean: i can relate a lot as i lose lot of time too (for completely different reasons).

I read a biology research book the other day which say size of dick and balls is link with if species is monogamist and faithful or not (at least for primates). Male gorillas are really strong and beat their females into creating harem and beat other males into staying away, so no concurrence, they have small dick and balls compared to their size. Chimpanzee male are trying to do the same, but their female resist more, use female solidarity to defend themselves and also often cheat with male they prefer, so chimpanzee develop bigger dick and balls as a way to try to flood the other male sperm with their own. So you know, humans are between the two extreme, meaning evolutionary speaking we aren't mean to be fully monogamous.
