In one of the countries I was in:
When a building was constructed, an entire "temporary corporation" was made. They built the building, then dissolved.
When I asked the regular people living there, they just said "That's just it's done."

Being the new guy, I kept my mouth shut... BUT... I certainly thought:
"That in NO WAY is so that there's nobody to sue in case something was built wrong. Nah. I'm just crazy to think like that..."

Not sure if that would be a corporation or a partnership but hey I don't want to think about legal entities or corporate groupings which may or may not have distinct legal entity haha

Now, the question that I can't stop wondering about... what does a kind yet fierce, blood hearted pirate, who has mastery of eldritch horrors plucked from the the cold oubliettes of soulless nightmares, grab a bite of when he's hungry?

I'm guessing either he consumes the darkness that lies in the empty spaces around forgotten stars, or a croissant from Pret-a-Manger.

That's nothing unusual. If the same interests controlled the construction company and the ultimate owner of the finished building, there's usually some form of successor liability that applies. Permitting and other considerations often make it easier from a legal and regulatory standpoint to have the building, particularly if it is a multi-year construction, in a clean entity. It could take any number of forms.

Not everything is set up to screw someone. More often, it is to protect the people that are most at risk: the investors.

I think in terms of sales there were a few of the earlier movies that did do well in China, like Endgame made about $632 million in China compared to $858 million domestic. That's still misleading since the actual cut of that the studio gets is way lower in China but I could see some suits being bedazzled anyway. On the other hand hardly anyone in China showed up for Mulan, despite Disney's best efforts to cater to them regardless of which concentration camps they had to thank.

Sometime ago I saw a story in which a travel company gave as a "freebie" a bottle of homemade alcoholic beverage that was mostly gasoline or something like that, a dude that were traveling by said company drunk it, and then became tetraplegic. The company then was dissolved, and the same people opened a NEW company, which, obviously, had nothing to do with that other company...
