Got some level of ADD, so have always jumped around from thought to thing to something.
One time I was lying on the couch reading a book while idly watching a movie, (muted, because I had to have music going on as well) and scratching my balls.

It wasn't that Marvel couldn't use the word mutant. It was that Fox had the rights to all of the mutant characters. Because Marvel/Disney had the rights to the Avengers and associated characters there were some that were in a bit of a grey area between the two, like Wanda and Pietro. Basically the two companies came to an agreement saying that Disney could use the characters but they couldn't be mutants. It was a similar cooperation deal between Disney and Sony that allowed Spiderman to finally enter the MCU.No, that's is exactly what I was wondering.

IF it predated Marvel's use- I don't see how Fox could tell them that they couldn't use it in the movies.
They may have copyrighted "Snikt" and "Wank", but "mutant" had to exist before that...
