As for insults... I am more than happy to provide. it is something I am good at haha
"Dino juristic tech", grampa tech, ancient tech stuff, old, and Jurassic." Really wanna become my friend, don't you? Do I? Do I really wana become friends? Ewwww so gross... I am going to be sick. A loveless, friendless life is much more fin for an evil creature that hunts humans for blood...
IRQ = was an "Interrupt Request" back when PC's had to "share" what you could and couldn't do at the same time.
I see. I probably understand now (yes i do lol)
DMA = was "Direct Memory Access" and was more like a timeshare for when and where data would go.
Thanks for this.
Back in the "OLD" days you had to fiddle with those 2 for hours. You want a mouse OR a keyboard? Do you want sound AND a mouse? Do you want the Master or Slave drive to be operational? You kinda just had to pick and mix until you got everything to work... GOD forbid if you wanted something other than the onboard GPU or the sound from the motherboard. I remember trying to get a SoundBlaster32 and a Radeon Video card to work for close to 3 hours (AND you had to change jumpers on your motherboard for different voltages for add-ons). Just to play "X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter." Oh happy days.
That sounds like trouble. Is that in the days where the max HDD size was about 250GB and there was floppy disk drive with Pentium 3 chip? I heard about these kinds of old tech.
