Well, to be fair, when MCU begun it was already Disney's. The first movies were pretty fun, but nowadays most of them are very bland. Maybe it's the nostalgia, I don't know, but they seem to be declining in quality overall.

I could be wrong but I understood that Disney only got involved with the production of the Marvel films from Iron Man 2 onwards. Hence the watering down of the 'Demon in a bottle' storyline elements that were originally intended.

I actually kinda remember the same thing.

It's why there were more sexual references (Iron Man 1 Stripper Pole, Hulk Can't have sex without hulking out, etc...).
Nothing bad for the movies of the time, but totally forbidden once Disney-puritanicals got their hands on it.
