I've said before, movies, TV etc... has always been a balance between show (art) and business (profits).
I'd say right now, the needle is firmly on the business side (whether it actually makes money or not).

Now, being autistic, I've always considered movies to be like food.
I want exactly what I've ordered. Powers (Superheroes), Spells (Fantasy) or Crazy High Tech (Sci-fi). That's the cup of coffee I ordered.

If you hate it, don't worry. It'll cycle. Before this, there was all the artsy decades.

Of course, before that, it was the western.
-White Hat: Ah. That's the hero. He's gonna win.
-Black Hat: Ah. That's the villain. He's gonna lose.
-Brown Hat: Oh, some options here:
BH-Version 1: Was on the villain side. Switches sides. He's the cautionary tale / tragic death.
BH-Version 2: Was neutral. Joins hero. He was beat up pretty bad, but lives.
BH-Version 3: Was on the hero side from the start. When the hero goes "upstairs" with the love interest, the Brown Hat has the honour of grooming the hero's horse.

Well, it's more of a silly movie. Mel Brooks's style of comedy was rooted in vaudeville and burlesque, which emphasized physical humor, insults, sight gags, and outrageous lampooning. He also made Spaceballs, History of the World: Part 1, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein.

Well, maybe not so silly as Japan TV can often be haha

I actually know Blazing Saddles. That was good comedy movie. I liked it when I seen. No idea about Young Frankenstein, but I did see few of movies with him. Sadly, most are actually silly, but some can be fun also.

Just a shame about his medical issues now. It was kind of heartbreaking to see him on the Rocky Horror read through livestream during the pandemic lockdown. Such a shell of the man he was, but still full of determination and love for his craft. Much respect.
