Agreed, except you may not know the history of this decision:

1-Original Rule = No realistic AI under 18. Post it wherever.
2-Some asshole poster goes = This doesn't count right? (posts... you know)
3-Website hosts go = We're gonna fuckin' ban you!

Mods go = Wait. Wait. Wait. We'll kick the poster out and police better.
Repeat the 1- to 3- cycle a few times.
4-Website host kicks us out. New Website Host needed.

Repeat the whole 1- to 4- (!) cycle enough times
Now the CURRENT host goes to step 3-.
Mods go = FUCK IT! NO AI FOR ANYONE! NO COOKIES EITHER!! AND CHRISTMAS... IS CANCELLED!!!

Maybe... maybe... it's a bit much. But I can totally fuckin' see why did that.

Makes me wish I was a bajillionaire via a PowerBall lottery win or whatever and I could go:

It doesn't say that it only applies to AI, so I interpret it as applying to all images.
As it is written, we are not allowed to post anything that even looks like something real, not even a coffee cup.
If there is any clarification in the link with rules, I don't know because I don't have authorization.

I know it's about how you interpret the word realistic.
But as it is written with that warning, I dare not read between the lines and post a cat lying to a sofa, because both the cat and the sofa are real things.

If whole issue is caused by host company, why not move website to AWS? it's like 50$ per year for a site like LC. Are there any rules that prevent adult content to be hosted on AWS?

What exactly constitutes "realistic". Is there some sort of examples, just so we know? I read the rules but they still need some polishing...

Compared to what they were trying to push...these rules are 100% reasonable. Almost everything I do is obviously AI (I've done some close to realistic stuff that probably wouldn't pass muster now, but not a ton) I'll wait and see what gets nuked form my image threads to see exactly where the line is s I don't cross it by accident, but I'm feeling better about things now.

Do they seem somewhat compromistic? (yes, I totally made that word up, just now).

I have read the part with dog and teacup.
To me it seems like LC chose wrong host. There are plenty of service providers that allow 18+ content, and unless there is global AI ban that I have not heard about, there is no reason to be bullied by a company who takes your money.
