Whoa I am sympathetic to their plight. I also tried making ai art due to this site.
I understand that some people are emotional about the ai art they created.
Their frustrations are valid I agree with those frustration but I also agree with the actions taken by the mods.
Overall, I do not have another account talking to itself here or any other thread.
Sorry, must've missed this one last night...
THAT I did not know. For that, I apologize. I was basing it off your comment(s) about how if this just went back to being primarily a games site- all of this could be avoided and they way you "mock" them (I know you're teasing, but the wounds are still fresh for a lot of people). (I read e'rything back-reading). While I agree with you to some extent- a lot of y'all are entrenched in this thread and hate to see what you created together taken away so abruptly, so cruelly (through no fault of your own).
A lot of people become attached to what they create because they invest so much time, imagination, and love that they put into it. It gives them a sense of pride to see their vision become reality, brought to life (if you will). It becomes even better when you can share that creation with others who will appreciate it just as much as you do- if not more. If you manage to find others that share your passion and interests- you share, you learn, you grow, and you bond. That's what built this amazing community. You support. You encourage. You care.
For some of these people it may have been therapeutic, cathartic, beneficial, or just plain fun. It was heart-rending to see so many of these artists having to nuke everything that they created, because of just how much they invested into every single image- and you could tell that it devastated them to have to do it. All that inspiration, that hard work, all that time, that frustration, that attachment, and all that emotion- erased forever (unless you saved most of it, like a lot of us did). These things are gone. (Along with the spirits of most of the artists.)
No one will get to appreciate that tiny piece of you that put on display for the world to see.
You can see how badly it affected a lot of the people here- the ones that are still here, but there are artists that didn't frequent this thread or yap or interact...BUT they still had somewhere to share their creations with the rest of us. As simple and stupid as these react emojis may seem, lbh, it probably thrilled people to see all those "hearts" and comments their under images- because it meant they were seen and appreciated by people who genuinely shared the same love of the art that they do/did.
From Faeries to Gingers to Gobbos to Elves to Pigs to Nightmares to Nudes (big and small) to Bears to Everything else and in between- you may be gone, but you live on in our hearts and minds.
It's tantamount to handing DaVinci a can of paint-thinner and saying, "You know what to do".
