I've only recently discovered LC and looking through the latest updates catalogue, activity seems more biased towards western games than Japanese ones (compared to say F95 where JP games pop up more frequently in any sort of activity metric). Is the audience here just more western-game focused?

same on f95. simply because f95 is a lot more active, JP games also get attention, but if you just look and compare, it's not even close to what daz/renpy western slop gets

There are definitely both found in the catalog here, however, I think a lot of the audience prefers the western games. Though that also may depend on your definitions.
