We're boned if we're talking about the gas prices unless the global community gets on it. As it was before, Iran had no say on what went through there, as international law forbids making people pay for passing through a territory if no actual service is provided. Mister Orange just had to make everything worse for everyone because he wants a legacy or whatever.
