My thoughts exactly. No matter what we do to restrict anything, people will find a way around it. Unless, of course we go to impossible extremes that create other problems. And besides, there are already parental control tools inbuilt with any device that can access the internet anyways. there is no reason that websites should be collecting our data "to see if we're old enough"That would just mean there would be a black marcket for those tokens. Unless you think young people do not circumvent the age restriction on alcohol daily already.
I prefer my internet as free as possible, dealing with the consequences that freedom brings, rather than the alternative. Theoretically if everyone was obligated to wear a 360 ° camera on their head we would live in a mostly crimeless world. A world that no one but the ones in control of the CCTV system would want to live in.
And lets not forget that age restrictions do not seem to be solving any major world problems so far. In fact, so far, the politicians that push for it seem to just want the lazy parents' vote.
