Your gifs are always miles ahead of mine. Don't think I'll ever be very good at it and don't have the time more often than not but it always makes me smile to see when we all make new ones.

I'll probably miss out if you create a proper quote wall. It's very early for me, I work in a few hours and I'm deep into my nightly drink - some Johnny Walker: Black tonight.

I'll be joining my wife in the ether soon enough here but I really want to finish this damn chapter. (Doing some more writing and I've hit some serious writer's block.)

I've noticed Honey Select gets a lot of crap from people but even as someone that appreciates my "graphics" shall we say in VN's, Cosy Cafe will always be one of me and my wife's favorite games and the graphics, while not realistic, are more than enough to draw you in and I've said it before but that game made both of us cry.

Money or Morals was also fucking amazing and it still breaks my heart that Ronovan has abandoned it (at least for now). He took the engine to sexy levels in my opinion.

Honey Select 2 is definitely more visually impressive but if you're playing a VN just for the scenes why not just watch porn? The "N" of "VN" is always the more important, at least to me.

Skimming over your suggestions, they all look pretty good. You might have just given three people some good material, Tosser.

I don't dislike HS, but I do prefer the HS2 - I even prefer the way Cari does HS2 to the things many do with Daz3D.

As for "scenes" - I'm talking about the overall visual appeal. Yes - the "scenes" you mean are a very fun and enjoyable aspect, but I'm in it for the "N" as much as the "A". However, the "N" is much more appealing when the "V" is done well - character design, environment design, lighting, etc. I loved the way OIALT was done - very visually appealing - but so many hate on HS for it being less "realistic" than a well put together HS2 or Daz3D, and now AI, AVN, so I wanted to point that aspect out in case someone has a prejudice against the format. Personally, I've rejected a couple of AI VNs for being too realistic looking - these things are supposed to be distinguishable from reality in my mind, not very nearly real.

Overall with VNs, I want well done and cohesive visuals, regardless of scene type, since that is part of the experience. When it comes to regular novels, I can build the scenes in my head, and always do. That's why I typically don't read a book at my top speed - I like to savor the words and create the visuals and sounds in my mind, not just consume text.

And I hope you do find some things you really like on that list. I have fun with a lot of goofy/silly VNs as well, but the ones I enjoy most have a little bit of nuance and a reasonably crafted story. As you said, if it's only about the naughty bits, regular porn is a better choice.

For a few days now I've been waking up sometime between 3 and 4am, no matter what time I go to sleep, then I'll stay awake for a while and then get sleepy again

Apparently this is "normal" and how we used to sleep before the 9-5 work day was created.

I'm sure you'll read my current state from my earlier post. I'm sorry you're having trouble sleeping. Have you tried sleep aids? If you have, have you struggled with them? If you have, I might be able to help.

You said you've only been having trouble for a few days though, so hopefully it's just stress or something else that will pass. (It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass.)

True. Very true. There have been more than a few AVN's we've found through LC that have had amazing visuals and been absolute slop in every other regard. Visuals draw attention, animation captivates and stimulates, and the novel enraptures the mind if done well.

Unless they're working together it's just a mess at best. We'll be looking through what you posted tomorrow and Eternum is top of the list. I already downloaded it so we'll see where things go.

We've been having fun in other ways but a good new AVN will be quite welcome.

1 or 2 years ago, I had the worst weeks of sleep of my life. I was so anxious that I 'forgot' to breathe.
So my sleep was, sleep 2 hours, wake up, sleep 2, wake up and repeat.

1 or 2 years ago, I had the worst weeks of sleep of my life. I was so anxious that I 'forgot' to breathe.
So my sleep was, sleep 2 hours, wake up, sleep 2, wake up and repeat.

Question for yourself then (not for me) is: What happened 2 years ago? Or, what has been happening for the last two years?

If nothing, explore just general sleep apnea and possibly anti-anxiety medication if this has been a long-term issue.

If not a long-term issue, find outlets. I know.. not a helpful suggestion.

Maybe our community can be that for you? Me and my wife both struggle with anxiety. For her, diving into tasks help keep her brain centered. For me, I sort of have that naturally, being the primary provider and wanting to stay that way. So, for me, my anxiety relief comes in the form of my family, the few friends I have made along the way, and this community.

Most anxiety is like a bottle, in my experience. You're keeping things "in" when they need to be out, and you need to find how you can let them out while still being comfortable.
