rtx3060 - NVIDIA, Ryzen - AMD. I went on the benchmark website and basically chose the best price/performance ratio. Whole thing costed me about 700-800 bucks along with keyboard, headphones, mouse and normal monitor

I mean, video cards are made by different guys, Palit, Gigabyte, KFA2, MSI and others) Nvidia only provides the chip itself)
Unless it's like this below, then yeah, Nvidia)

Yeah but the difference between the different manufacturers isn't enough to bother specifying a lot of the time. Usually people just buy whatever 3060 is in stock when they're going to buy, and don't care who it's from.

You are so welcome Kaity Kitty

Same same.

I'm not sure if they are twins, but that's how I want to imagine them...

That first one hurts.

True, most of the time, but it was just my curiosity)

I usually am not in a position to be picky so excuse my ignorance but which manufacturers are considered the better ones?

[uncbuck]

Also Lisa Welchel from Facts of Life (but she turned out to be a religious fanatic - to the point she not only would play the part in the loss of virginity episode [so they gave it to the one who weighed like 400 lbs - WTF]

Well for every Lisa Welchel there is a Dana Plato out there - (Kimberly Drummand - one of the stars of Different Strokes who guested in the spin off Facts of Life a few times) She got pregnant during the series and was dismissed from the show at the end of the sixth season. After that, Plato turned to roles in pornography - she sadly died of an OD when she was 34

ASUS and MSI are by far the most popular and trustworthy. EVGA used to be up there, but they sadly stopped making cards a couple years back I think. At the end of the day though? Unless you're getting a genuine scam, the chip itself always comes from NVIDIA, so it really doesn't matter. Just go for the best price but don't get something that looks way too good to be true.

Personally, I am a strong advocate for buying used GPUs. They don't decrease in performance when used normally, so a 4 year old 3090 should work about the same as a brand new one, except you saved money by buying it second-hand.

Just take a coffee/tea (your drink of choice really) and talk about anything for a while, its and activity I usually enjoy and I probably would invite anyone from my family.

Very lovely, Castell. Thank you for sharing. Basically what me and my daughters did for our activity. Just sat with some drinks, cuddled and "vibed" as the kids would say.

I've been building a lot of model kits lately. So I'd probably offer to come and sit with me and be creative, build a model with me, draw, or just sit and chat while I'm building.

MTG is a fun game. Whether or not you'll enjoy it is really up to how you and your group play. It can get incredibly expensive though. I worked for some time at a shop and some people were really cool, others were super toxic and nasty. I enjoyed playing EDH (Commander) before it became competitive which defeated the entire purpose of the format. After working at that shop for as long as I did, and being a tournament organizer, I was ultimately turned off by some of the people in the shop. Eventually the shop closed and I left that town.

TLDR, your mileage will vary. A lot depends on who you play with, how they enjoy the game, and if that jives with how you enjoy the game. Try not to go down the rabbit hole of spending big money on cards. But absolutely no harm in giving the game a go.

That sounds like a lovely time, Tleilax. Thank you for sharing. I'd happily sit down and model with you. I've only worked on one model before when I was a boy spending time with my uncle. Was a lovely experience I'd love to share with someone again.

I've had a few people talk to me about MTG and other TCG's over the years.

I DM D&D with my family, including my parents and brother, and I've delved into MTG lore a bit for inspiration and a lot of it is really good. We'll see how my interaction with my co-worker pans out. He's only been with us for a little over a month but his enthusiasm is a bit infectious.

I did it! the Wholesome Club is open! See you friendly people over there!!!!

and who's ready for the

Spoiler: Kitty question of the day!!!

Why is the sky blue? (wrong answers only!!!! haha)

ok there game of thrones!

You did it! I'm so proud of you, Kitten!

The sky is blue because her twin sister, the ocean, loves the color blue and she likes seeing her sister happy during the day when the two wear similar outfits.

...did someone say Game of Thrones?

I just found out that they created a mod tool for coc2. Will it reach the level of the first one or not?

OK thanks. I've got a 3070 and have been looking to get a 4070 of higher but am just put off with the prices. I thought with the new 5 series it would bring the costs down a bit.

I hadn't really thought about second hand to be honest as I assumed that they wouldn't be in as good a shape as a new one. I'll have a look around to see if there is something. Cheers

Well, in 2014 it was true I guess. Now you need to worry if it was used to mine crypto and/or run 24/7 making AI art

I will say, unless you are seeing real struggles in performance on games, or intend to play stuff at 4k, a 3070 should still be great to use for a while. I'm rocking a 2080ti still and have 0 issues generating high-res AI images on large models, playing modern games at 1080p 144fps, etc. Just because your card is technically "2 generations old" does NOT mean it is out of date. Don't let the corporate messaging get to you and only upgrade if you really actually need more performance.

Interesting, I've never consider this. Where would you typically buy a used GPU and if you were to buy one now, which would you recommend? I'm considering buying and building a new computer soon and I'd like to start dipping my toes into creating some AI renders and of course I want to it to be able to handle the current games such as Enshrouded and Void Crew. Thanks!

(currently watching The Naked Gun. Funny stuff! haha)

One of my favorite movies. Really hoping the new one with Liam Neeson is good. The trailer was pretty funny

I don't like buying PC parts second hand.
You never know what has been done to them, and for how long it has been done to them.
At least that's how I see it.
