I'm a Dr Pepper guy, and there's one bottling plant here in Texas that still does cane sugar instead of HFCS and it's always better to me. It's a "cleaner" flavor. I don't know if anyone else really notices, but the sugar version has a slightly lighter viscosity that seems to allow the flavors to come through better. Might all be in my head, but it does make a difference in my level of enjoyment. That's like asking which is better - New Coke or Coke classic. The simple fact is that they started using high fructose corn syrup instead of Sugar in 1985 in the United States because it was cheaper. - If you want the "real" taste of traditional coke you need to buy some that is bottled in Mexico - where they still use cane sugar. It tastes MUCH better and is only sold in glass. and -- especially on Taco Tuesday - is my drink of choice.
