Listen they had two songs I liked, and I'll be damned if I ever care what other people think of my music.

Fuck man, i remember during Covid, the puddle of mudd guy did a Nirvana cover and it was an absolute shocker. Insane levels of cringe.

Most covers are imo. There are a few that are really good though

War pigs by Faith no more
Tom Sawyer by Deadsy

Just dropping in to check the forum of yappers for nostalgia.
There's so many heads to pat in that profile picture.

Just had a listen to Deadsy's Tom Sawyer. Pretty good.
My first time hearing Tom Sawyer was through Mindless Self Indulgence (MSI). One of my fav MSI songs (they were my fav band for many years).
Imagine my surprise when i heard Rush's original LOL.

A whole 2 huh ? Was the other one slumthing like "she hates me" or along those lines?
I hate everything about you I think it is

There are so many popular songs that are actually cover songs. The difference is normally the artists presentation that makes it worth hearing.

Eric Clapton vs Guns N Rose's Knocking on Heavens Door is a great example.

Don't wanna go to work. Couldn't sleep all night, this is gonna suck.

Now you just need some AI and some machine parts to make it move or maybe witchcraft if you want to go old fashion.

Rain is coming around but no tornado for us. Just rain. Guess we are lucky.

You know a cover is good when an artist adapts a work creatively without making it just an imitation.

I like Freddie Mercury's take on covers and such. “You can do whatever you want with my image, my music, remix it, re-release it, whatever… just never make me boring”

Yeah, a cover so good that we forget the original but I think the video helps too. Anything before a music video clip made for it is probably half as memorable. Also 80s are far more memorable due to it's wild styling.

Yes there have been horrendous covers, and amazing covers.

Like everything else presentation is important. It's why fine dining is literally the same food you find in other places, but dolled up fancy
