discussion Anti-Social & Lurker - Hideout spot

while i am venting about stuff that midly annoy me! i still have zero clue why the recent baldurs gate game is called baldurs gate 3! it has really nothing to do with the first 2 baldurs gates, sure some returning characters and one of the acts do take place in baldurs gate. I guess baldurs gate: mindboggling stupidity didnt sound quite as nice

Probably to help cash up some of the fans of the old games by branding it 3. That is how marketing works.

Plenty of Homer and Bacon clips out there, hmmmm bacon..

Bacon goes with everything, replace Shrimp with Bacon in Bubba's rant in Forrest Gump, and it would make Delicious sense..

they could have used the baldurs gate name without putting a 3 there but the game itself has a bunch of remember bg1 yeah that was a good game over i dunno making a good game themselves. plus last act feels to have copied story beats from bg1. which made me think sometimes i am probably betteroff just replaying bg1 since that way i can replay bg2 and throne of bhaal aswell which they seem to ignore talking about.
but i showed my appreciation to the whole bg1 pandering by slaughtering everyone from those games because fuck larian and fuck these impostors

you werent even a gleam in your fathers eye when both originals of these franchises was released. isnt it naptime? plus do i need to repeat that the market has changed from being a new unexplored niche market to becoming a giant money making machine? plus if you want that cod is best game. clash of clans was at its time best too. if sold units is all that matter. so take you obscure bethesda crap and throw it on garbage pile.
