I am going to jump in and force my opinion in here My biggest pet peevee with the hobbit trilogy is that the majority of dwarves in the group did not look like dwarves. Just looked like short regular humans or hobbits if you removed the pointy ears and hairy feet. I did enjoy seeing a dwarf army fully armored and filthy. At least if memory serves the female dwarves in intro had beards. Also not enough elves got killed in the movie For a fight almost a war between dwarves and elves. It did raise my opinion of legolas character and i can understand why gimli ended up seeing him as an exception to sodding elves rule.

Thats actually true, they did look like short humans but is this not how Dwarf people should look like? I also do love the Dwarven armor. i think it looks cool like Elf armor does. You are right, not so many elves wee killed. I just thought it was because they are faster than other races and can avoid most of the enemy blows.

I barely watch them, i have seen some snippets here and there on YouTube. As for jav, its stands for japanese adult video, so basically japanese porn.
What i meant to say is that there are japanese porn movies that are filmed similar to these shows. Its porn, but a bit more on the funny side

I just watched the Ring movie with my GF today and I first seen it many year ago but I had forgot just about everything. I still think it is great. It was the USA version, but it seems bit different to the Japanese version. Both are certainly wonderful, just like The Grudge and Ju-On. Not many horror movies will match these master arts pieces. Some will but not a lot that I see. They are still in top 10 world greatest Horror category, which is wonderful achievement. if you guys didn't see these movie then you missing out on really good movies. IMO

Japan still makes some of best horror and crime movies in the world,

Thank you for the recommendations. It's a quite time I don't watch horror movies. Regarding Japanese ones, I remember watching "Dark Water" (仄暗い水の底から) and the infamous gore series of Guinea Pig. The second one was even investigated by the FBI suspecting it was a real snuff movie! True horror lovers my know it: "Flower of Flesh and Blood" (仄暗い水の底から). Not for the weak!
I think the last horror movies I watched were the first "Train to Busan" and "The Platform". The first was ok for a zombie movie, the second one I didn't like it. Interesting setting, but too simple metaphor.

If you want to open your views to other country horror films try: "House of 1000 Corpses" and the sequel "The Devil's Rejects", from Rob Zombie. I didn't watch the 3rd one, so I don't know if it's good, "Let the Right In" (the Swedish one, not the shitty remake), "Martyrs" the French one (again why the fuck they do all those shitting remakes!) or "Thesis" (a very good Spanish movie about Snuff films).

the Hobbit was bit better than 5 out 10, but that's fine. we all have different likes and such. I still think Peter Jackson certainly did a great job for his time, considering no one had managed to make successful LTR movie series before.

Peter Jackson lost all my support releasing these infamous films. I couldn't even watch the trailers without crying blood from my eyes.
He is too far away from his roots, "Braindead" (aka Dead-Alive) was hilarious. I don't know how many times I watched that movie! "Heavenly Creatures" was also pretty decent.
