Yeah it's a shame but after all the crackdowns and switching laws depending on were you live it's understandable why. When it comes to the Game+ section, you’re absolutely right—we’ve lost a lot of developers along the way, other games have been abandoned, and there are few left, with even fewer new ones coming out. A lot of people are always giving us a hard time about not uploading or updating the games in that section, but if there’s nothing to upload, there’s nothing we can do.
I'll tell you something: I've been spending the last few days learning Ren'Py and other stuff so I can start making a smol game as a hobby.Yeah it's a shame but after all the crackdowns and switching laws depending on were you live it's understandable why.
The only viable way will be to make any game+ as a hobby and not advertise anywhere. Then share it anonymously on forums like ours.
Good luck scripting is easy it's the renders depending on your program and hardware that are a hassle.I'll tell you something: I've been spending the last few days learning Ren'Py and other stuff so I can start making a smol game as a hobby.
But don't expect anything... I'm not even sure if I'll actually start anything.
The renders are exactly my main problem, which is why I'm really focusing on learning Ren'py—worst-case scenario, I can always end up making mods lolGood luck scripting is easy it's the renders depending on your program and hardware that are a hassle.
Someone needs to make a renply like engine that is similiar to RPGMaker so many newcomers can learn.
Look on the bright-side analysts do predict another game crash is incoming at some point.
Anyway I'm getting older and playing less game every myself. So replying older and indie games are my favorites right now.
Why would anyone want to make a game for a subsect of a single forum's worth of people? A small group of people who aren't paying them to make the game, but paying somebody else to access it. That's sitting in the cuck chair at the center of a circklejerk. The only viable way will be to make any game+ as a hobby and not advertise anywhere. Then share it anonymously on forums like ours.
Because you can't fund those type of games that's why they are now becoming illegal, and no longer tolerated on most funding sites. Why would anyone want to make a game for a subsect of a single forum's worth of people? I mean it's still a Catch 22 though. The games+ section is nothing but a middle man, bottlenecking developers and their audiences. Developers have no incentive to make games for a handful of users on this forum. While users on this forum are asked to donate for access to a handful of (dead) games. It needs to go back to the way it was, open to all users. An exclusive club is only as good as the benefits it offers.Because you can't fund those type of games that's why they are now becoming illegal, and no longer tolerated on most funding sites.
When devs turned out what used to be a hobby into a job making bank they brought attention no one wanted.

I've done what I could to contribute to gaming and change it for the better. At this point, I'm burnt out and tire. It's best that the industry crashes and gets reborn from the ashes.
here you goThe AI deep fakes were a huge part of this,
Till then nobody really cared about our weeby 2D and 3D Sprites we used to goon to.
I can't even find one of my fav games blended family anywhere now
Totally agreeIts definitely getting harder to make. However i also think there is a sought of, idea of money making industry to more and more devs these days. Less are making games they want to make, for the sake of making the art.
