PROGRESS REPORT #56​

Hello people, welcome to the 56th progress report!
I got pretty busy during the last cycle...
I'm already done with both the overlay update, and the schedule system.

For those who don't know (meaning those who don't have access to the progress bars or watched my previous streams :D) 2 of the tasks were to: update the overlay buttons, and to implement a schedule system. Let's go over those on detail:

Overlay update: this aims to update how the "interactables" buttons look, for two main reasons. The first one, I had to unify how the buttons work for both interactables and collectables. Because yes, there will be collectables in the game in the near future (in the form of hot pictures of mom), and those will be scattered around the world, and one of the way to collect them will be to squint your eyes at a little square placed on the world, and to click on it. Making a big circle floating on top of it would defeat the purpose, hence the new buttons. What I'm talking about is probably kind of unclear, so here are some examples:

I also could have made that kind of button only for collectables, but the resulting inconsistency would probably have been unnecessarily confusing to players. And also the second reason is: they were ugly. Floating circles suck. Moving on.

Schedule update: this was the bulk of the work done during the last 10 days, to be honest. Prior to that, ALL the events were checked on *every* game update, so at every time skip or any event requiring me to update the world, the game would check all the events to see if they needed to be activated or not. Now, this is done via schedule. The game checks every character's schedule, only for a particular hour, and fires the events accordingly. Not only this makes the code way cleaner and structured, this makes it compatible for me to write, and easily update, a functional schedule list. See below:

I know you'll notice the holes in the schedule I've shown you. I'm still looking for ideas on how to fill them, but rest assured, they will be in due time.

ALSO, since the last dev cycle lasted 11 days, instead of the good old 10, I updated the last avatar that needed updating. Namely, Eve's. Here's what I've come up with:

Anyway.

This is about all I've done during the last dev cycle. Next, I'm probably going to open Blender and start making props for the new bedrooms. I might stream some of that, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interrested in that kind of stuff. I'll see you on the next 10 days.[/Center}​
 
Well it looks like from the image above that there are now 2 futa's in the game as you can clearly see it in the above dev note page and going back into game and looking you can actually tell once you start paying attention to Eve's images like this one in the morning.

Guessing the futa stuff isn't avoidable... So that's a pass. Sad, I loved all the other tags.
 
Not sure why your looking at a game that has a futa protagonist then if you don't like it.
...Because I looked at games with the incest tag and not the futa one?
 
But then what's the point of announcing your disappointment? The only disappointment here is noticing someone not having been able to look at the tags, lol
Hence me ASKING if it is a setting that can be changed in game. Most of the time in games it's optional, it's only logical that I ask if it is optional in here as well.

PROGRESS REPORT #58​

Hello people, welcome to the 58th progress report!
Sick Misarmor here. I caught the flu (or a really bad cold? Point is I feel like shit) so I'll be brief.

New bedrooms. They're not 100% done yet. For reasons, I have to put them on the backburner for a little while. Fear not, they're all 90% done, it's just that I have a couple things missing that I can't get right now (textures, models, stuff like that).
I'll be showing WiP renders at the end of the progress report.

What else? I did some writing for the actual events leading to the bedrooms getting redone, and I spent some time designing a website for the game. That's all I can say for now.

Emily's room was particularly challenging (and took the most time) because I needed to get the lighting 100% right from the beginning.

PROGRESS REPORT #57​

Hello people, welcome to the 57th progress report!
Let's start with the beginning: the poll.

Not long ago, I've posted a poll on here (and later on strawpoll) to ask you guys how much you liked futa-on-futa, basically. I've known I would have more than one futa around the house for a long time, so naturally I wanted to try the waters and ask you guys how you were feeling about a couple futas getting frisky together. Most of you guys seemed to like/not mind it, a few of you seemed to have trouble with it.
I'm probably going to make some amount of futa-on-futa content optional anyway. Unrelated to the poll really, I just think it's better this way for other reasons. Moving on.

The progress, it's been slow, not gonna lie. I'm still working on the bedrooms as I'm writing this progress report. I've exported and implemented the new walls and flooring from Blender to DAZ as of now, and I've also modelled (and exported and all that) new curtains for every bedroom too. I'm working on furnishing the bedrooms now, and I want to model as many of those as I can myself. I'm confident the bedrooms will be done and rendered (and maybe implemented in code too) by the next progress report.

Reminder that the bedrooms getting renovated will be part of the game's main quest, and that it's going to be necessary for some characters to start working on their respective jobs.
As some of you can see from the progress bars though, one character will have their job introduced on the next update. This character won't need their bedroom improved, and you'll get to use this income to help fund the new bedrooms.

That's about it for today's progress report. I'll share a test render for Riley's bedroom, that shows off the changes in flooring/wall/curtain presence for manager tier and above.​


So it looks like the games going to have futa on futa. From the looks of it some will be optional but not all of it.
 

PROGRESS REPORT #60​

Hello people, welcome to the 60th progress report!
Sorry for the small delay on today's post!

I had quite a productive dev cycle.
I've implemented the JustAFan feed screen, and coded the post generation functions. Posts will be generated on demand when conditions are met, players will be able inspect the pictures... Stuff like that.
I'm pretty proud of myself, I think it's pretty neat.

This will allow the player to buy the pricier stuff. Alice will have to run those by Eve first though, which allows some dialogue and scenes to happen.

Other than that, I've resumed working on the new bedrooms. I've finally been able to get my hands on the missing textures, I've applied them, changed the UV cartography a bit on the first floor, rendered a poster for Riley's bedroom (and implemented it), changed the camera angles on every bedroom, changed the lighting a bit, and that's basically it for now. As I said before I need to get everything absolutely perfect before rendering, so I'm taking my time with it.
Oh, I also had to change the environment display code a bit to allow for the bedroom-progression-thing.

I also did some writing. I've written most of the event where we first meet the bad guy, but I still have some adjustments to make.

That's it for today's progress report.
As the progress bars show, I'm almost done with the programming side of things.
Depending on how much progress I make in the coming days I might switch into art mode, meaning I'll mostly write and render. "Done with the coding" is a bit too optimistic actually, but basically I need to write more to be able to program some things. Without going much into details.

Before I leave, I might stream a little tonight, if you're interrested. I'm going to make some quick modifications on the night summary screen.

PROGRESS REPORT #59​

Hello people, welcome to the 59th progress report!
HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!!§1§!!!!!

Can't believe it's already 2024... I feel like time flies faster every year.
I hope you guys all had a pleasant new year's Eve at least, and you didn't forget to brace yourselves for what's to come!
Just kidding of course, what is there to brace ourselves for... Were all going to be rich and muscular by the end of the year... :D

What about the progress: well, sadly I only got to work for about 5-6 days on the last progress report. First the flu I caught stuck around longer than it usually does which got me bedridden for like 5 days, and I even got a short trip to the hospital because I got a lung inflammation (flare-up?), so that was fun. And then there was christmas eve/day which slowed things down even more, as you can expect.

So, what did you DO??? I worked on a "website" for Riley's activities, which is basically an OF-like parody-thing. It's composed of 2 screens, a front page and a message page. Posts will appear on a semi-regular basis (depending on some conditions) and will usually be composed of a message (in text) and a picture. This constitutes a challenge in several aspects coding-wise, but I think I got it all mostly figured out, and now I just need to put in the work.
The goal is to have it done by the next progress report, along with the internet shop.

Can we take a peek of what it looks like (as of now)? Well sure, here you go:

Of course, those pages are subject to change. I might come up with a more original "stage name" for Riley, things might move around, and all is not implemented. As you can see right now the pages don't have profile pics and banners, for example. So there you have it.

Also perhaps you don't remember, but all the girls are supposed to have an "activity summary" page, accessible from their personal page on the main menu. I've built the layout for this page and I'm going to share it for manager tiers and above.

I also made a little picture to wish everybody a happy new year the right way. It's on the general channel of my Discord server.

WHORES OR SLUTS? Perhaps it is this century's most burning question. And I expect you guys to help me answer it, through a poll.
This poll has a description but allow me to plant the context anyway:

One of this game's core mechanics is to make money thanks to your family members. The game is supposed to push it as far as to allow your family members to have sex for money. That is called "sharing" and some people aren't into that.

PROGRESS REPORT #61​

Hello people, welcome to the 61th progress report!
Not sure if this progress report will be very interresting, I worked on a lot of small stuff lately.
I wrote some lore that will be useful to me for the main story, I finished rendering the new "tier 1" bedrooms, I changed the night summary so you don't have to click for every event, but you only have to click once per character, I made some additions to the display code again, but this time to allow different interaction buttons for each tier, and I added some more schedule slots to the girl's schedule. I also worked on a few renders for a collaborative game a fellow dev on F95 is making. I shared the results on the general channel on my Discord, but I might as well also share them here:

What I like about this is it also shows off the possibilities in Riley's bedroom in terms of lighting, and scenes and such. I also took the occasion to experiment with Render Queue, which is a tool that can help me save time making renders... I certainly need that LOL. I realize now that I've been rendering during the day for quite some time now, and that might have been a waste of precious time... We'll see how much that makes me save.

That's about it for the progress. I'll try picking up the pace for the next report. I realize those creative tasks aren't very sexy on progress reports... But coming up with stuff is as important as making it.

PROGRESS REPORT #63​


Hello people, welcome to the 63rd progress report!

I'm almost done writing JustAFan-related events. That's all the events leading to Riley opening her page, the picture-taking events and the like. I'm like 90% done. In fact, I was planning on providing the finishing touches yesterday, but...

...I got some ideas about Emily's storyline. Like, lightbulb over my head kind of deal. I wasn't planning on implementing it in the next update, but I guess it's done now. So I laid out a quest for her, which already has a name and a couple tasks, but also, this links her personal journey with Alice and her future job, where before, while I thought I had a clear idea about what her job would look like, I never perfectly fit with the story. Now it does. So that's good.
I'll add her events to the progress post when it's all laid out more clearly.

Talking about the progress post, did you know: the total amount of new events almost reaches 50? It's at 42 right now, but there are some events I forgot to list, and Emily's upcoming events aren't listed either. I didn't event think of counting them when I made the post, but that's kind of a crazy number if you ask me. Granted some of those events aren't particularly interesting (I mean, who's got an exciting life 24/7? Sometimes the girls will be chilling in their bedrooms and that's it.), but you can bet I'm trying by best to make them all worthwhile and I think I'm doing good so far.

Kind of unrelated, I found a good definitive name for Riley's internet persona. No more "Riley Redd", which was a funny name only for 2 seconds.

Also, if you can, check out the new wallpaper I released a few days ago. I think it might be some of my best work so far.

PROGRESS REPORT #62​


Hello people, welcome to the 62nd progress report!
I almost exclusively wrote dialogue during the past dev cycle, but there is still quite a bit to talk about.
First, what did I do that didn't involve writing: I started working on a wallpaper. It involves Angelina and a very successful boys band. Characters are posed, I just wanna touch up on the lighting and composition more. I'm probably going to release it tomorrow.
Other than that, I just wrote my ass off. Current amount of text is almost bigger already than 0.2, which was by biggest update in terms of text, and I still have plenty to write.

Before I go on on this report, here's a small notice: from now on I'll stop posting a new progress-bar post on every progress report. Instead, I have pinned a progress-bar post, and I will update it every time.

With that said: I am 99% done with the girl's new schedule. I just have a few holes to fill here and there:

A few notes: Dark blue are the sleep times. I'm not sure if I'll write something for that yet (night raids?), but for now the plan is not to. Bright blue are the meal times, which are already implemented, yellow are the events that already are in the game (with the exception of "Smoking on porch" for Eve which requires extension for 0.4), and green are those that I have already written as this progress report is being published.

So I already hear you coming: "Whaaaaaat? You said you did nothing but write for the past 10 days??? There's barely any green square on the pictures!" Well yes, glad you asked.
Those are the scheduled events that are displayed on the pictures, but there are also events that don't appear on this file, such as main-story events, and Riley's job events, some of which I have written already. ALSO, even some scheduled events don't appear on this file! Some of those will require you to buy appliances on the internet shop. Notice how Angelina's schedule has changed at 10PM (22:00)?

One of the reasons I changed the progress-post is that I'm going to make it more detailed.
Now that I know of basically every event that will end up in the next update, I can detail every new event, and display how far I am in the writing, code, art and sound.

BEFORE YOU GO, notice that there still some are missing squares in the girl's schedule. I've been adding, moving, and removing things around for the past dev cycle. I'm sure I will come up with stuff to add as I'm writing the events, but I am still very much open to suggestions!

PROGRESS REPORT #64
Hello people, welcome to the 64th progress report!
An other very busy 10 days, where I officially reached 1000 lines of dialogue written. We're also at 48 planned events, which is probably going to increase even more as I still have 2 time slots available (Angelina at 8PM, Emily from 5PM to 6PM).

So the good news is, 0.4 will be absolutely filled with content. No more looking around for disappearing relatives, they'll be in the house no matter what. It's the biggest content update I've ever made, and by far...
However, this obviously requires work, and as such, a March release is impossible. I just can't make render for 48+ events in a single month. So the new target for release is April/May.
That means we have an other ~6 month-long dev cycle for 0.4, which sucks, but you guys will get a 6 months-sized update in return, which sucks less.

When it comes to work, I've finished Riley's job-related events. Angelina's schedule is all green (appart from the missing timeslot), Riley's is mostly green, Eve's is about 75% green, and Emily's still requires the most work. I also have a few more miscellaneous events to write that aren't schedule-related.

Other somewhat bad-news, I'm postponing the "shower by 2" mechanic. Basically, you would have been able to force the girls to shower 2-by-2. However, without going too much into details, it requires more external work than you'd think, and I'd have to update some other stuff and all that... And I want to make it its own thing. So it's going to come in 0.5.

That's about it for today's progress report. I hope to start renders by the end of Feb. Again, sorry to the donors about the lack of spoiler-render, but if you want I shared some spoiler dialogue on the Discord (Spoilers-ahead channel), feel free to ask for more if you feel you've been let down (I understand...).

PROGRESS REPORT #65
Hello people, welcome to the 65th progress report!
Sorry for the late progress report, I was busy this morning!
Let's get the work part out of the way, I have a few other things to talk about today.
I am 90% done with the writing. There is one particular scene (last call with Stanley) that alone took me several days to complete. There were quite a few key elements to it to uncover, and it was very important to uncover them in a proper manner, and give the whole conversation the right tone. As such, I have rewritten some parts of that scene several times over, hence the time it took. As I write this report, I only have half of the last main plot scene to write, and the last remaining part is already pretty much laid out.

Now to the bulk of what I wanted to talk about. First, I'm slowly coming back into art mode. Here's a quick portrait of Larry I've made, as he's going to be a little more present in the upcoming update:

Second, here's a first render of that last scene I'm in the middle of writing:

And third, there was supposed to be another render, exclusively made for the people who want spoilers. And that's a nice segway for what comes next.
So yesterday, I finished that render, and I pressed the "render" button. Except only a black screen happened. And believe me, there's a whole history behind that goddamn black screen. The story is, DAZ (and specifically Iray) is absolute shite when it comes to video memory management. As a result, having only a few characters, and a few props (in my case, 3 characters, a truck and a few cardboard boxes), can eat your whole memory space (10 GB in my case) and the render won't start.

So there comes a whole process, very funny and not soul-sucking at all, that basically consists of removing as many props as you can one by one, removing textures... Basically optimizing the scene in hopes that it fits into your card. Then you stop DAZ, wait for a good 5 minutes that your video memory gets wiped, then open DAZ again (2 minutes), open the scene again (a good 3 minutes), then try to render the scene again (a good minute of praying the Iray-god for it to start rendering your humble scene), and start the whole process again until it finally fits into your video card memory. I have lost entire DAYS in a few previous scenes trying to render them. This following render took me only a day (maybe even less) to assemble, but a good couple days to render, just because there were 5 characters:

Notice how there's no grass outside? Well, that's because I removed it LMAO. But if you can believe it, there's absolutely nothing left behind the camera.

Anyway, bottom line is, I have a good couple months of work on art incoming, and I'm not going through this shit again. So the news are, I bought myself a 3090, LOL. The reason there is so much buildup towards this news is because considering my current finances this is quite a big investment, so I wanted to make it count. Video cards are still absurdly expensive, but I found a second-hand one for 900 bucks (founders edition, for those who know what I'm talking about) so it's better than I expected. I should receive it around Monday. This more than doubles my video card memory, so I should be set for any future horny endeavour.

And that's about it for today's news. Basically from now on I'll continue working on what's left to write while working on art at the same time starting Monday. Peace everybody, and take care.​
 


PROGRESS REPORT #66
Hello people, welcome to the 66th progress report!
Still working hard on the upcoming update, as always.
As I said on the previous report, I've been switching between more writing and art. On the art side of things I wanted to start simple, so I've made the renders from one of the smallest events for the upcoming update. This is 2 renders that took be about half a day to make, which isn't bad I think. Since we're talking about the art, I've also started finally rendering the new bedrooms (their definitive version) to start with a sane base. I'm about halfway done as those words are written (I started yesterday). I must say I really like the look of the new bedrooms. See for yourself:

On the writing side of things, we're now at 1400 lines of dialogue. When I told you guys that I had reached 1000 lines, I really didn't think I had much more in me. I guess I was wrong, lol. And I still have a few more holes to fill...

Talking about holes to fill, I have some bad news: all the girl's schedule won't be completely full. Mostly Emily's and Eve's. they each have about 2 or 3 hours where they'll be missing throughout the day. This is not a huge deal, especially for Emily, as her route/path will be expanded soon after 0.4, which will give me plenty of occasions to give her things to do to break her boredom in the future.

The polls. Throughout the previous dev cycle, I posted 2 polls about pubic hair. One was about Emily, the other was about Angelina. Here are the decisions I've made in regards to the poll results:

Eve's, Riley's and Alice's won't require polls. Just know that it's pretty much impossible to make everyone happy with that kind of decision. I remember asking people if I should give the girls pubic hair during the dream sequences back in the day, and the answer was pretty much 50/50, which I think illustrates how divisive that subject is. So at the end of the day, I based my decision on a mix of player feedback, and what I felt, as a creator, was coherent to the characters/story/tone/game the most.

On other news, I've been thinking about how I release the game's versions a bit, and I think something currently doesn't make sense. For both 0.2 and 0.3 I've made initial releases, (called... 0.2 and 0.3), after which I've "quickly" released a minor update, which are basically a more polished version of the initial release. However as those updates are "minor" people are less tempted to play them, even though they are basically the main release, but in a more polished state.
So I think I'm going to change how I make releases. I think I'll mark the upcoming first-release 0.4 as "alpha", or "open beta", and then call the usual minor update "Final" or just "release". This just makes more sense and reflects how it's been done up to that point anyway. I should have done that from the start, to be honest.

PROGRESS REPORT #67
Hello people, welcome this 67th installment of "progress reports with Misarmor".
First things first: as I mentionned in the last progress report, the new bedrooms were all fully rendered. Actually, something occured to me literally yesterday as I went to bed so I'll have to re-render all of MC's bedrooms (Tier 1, Tier 2 in all timeframes), but no matter, it's a problem for future Misarmor. It shouldn't be a big problem anyway. Moving on.

So this is the first story event that I rendered. I also started rendering the new bedrooms story event, but this one will require more work so I'll resume working on it later. Lately I've been focusing on Eve's scheduled events (activities she does throughout the day). I've made good progress so far I would say, but since I haven't exclusively focused on renders during the last dev cycle, I didn't make as much progress as I could have otherwise.

Here she is, busy in her new bedroom:

One thing that's important enough to note, those events that occur inside bedrooms take a little more time for me to make, as I have to render them twice. Once for the tier 1 bedrooms, and a second time for the tier 2 bedrooms. As shown here:

It's fine though, as it's only temporary (future events will probably require the bedrooms to be renovated) AND, the 3090 has been working wonders! So rendering a few events twice hasn't taken too much time. Plus, it's only a little portions of events that occur inside bedrooms.

Other than that, I started working on a sex scene, which manager tiers and above will get to have a (pretty fucking big) glimpse of in the spoiler post. It's going pretty good so far I think, I'd say I'm about 50% done with that scene.

Apart from renders I touched up the dialogue once again, adding lines, modifying stuff, it's mostly just providing the finishing touches at this point. I've also streamed Sunday evening, where I turned some dialogue lines in images, which are needed for a particular set of events.

PROGRESS REPORT #53
Hello people, welcome to the 53rd progress report!
As always progress has been made, we have now progressed into a further level of progression. As a result, all the new renders for 0.3.1 have been rendered! Yay!
This includes the main dream sex scene, the side dream sex scene, the (short but wholesome) reward you get for buying milk, and the tutorial event when you go shopping with Eve.

So now, code. I had several coding tasks to do for this minor release, I have completed the bigger ones before starting work on the renders, so the bigger ones only need further testing and bugfixing now, and all I have to do are the smaller ones.

So I think the release could happen within 2 weeks. That is to finish the coding tasks, and take some time for proper testing. I also have to finish writing the walkthrough, which sounds tedious af, but I'll power through it for the love of gaming.

Streams. What are they? Or rather, WHEN ar they? Well let me tell you: soon, in the evening (UTC+1). You will get notified on my Discord. They should be about me programming the last coding tasks I have to do.

PROGRESS REPORT #68
Hello people, welcome on this 68th installment of "progress reports with Misarmor".

As usual, progress was made.
I finished my work on Eve's masturbation event, after which I worked on 2 small scheduled events. Then I noticed I wanted to change the dishwasher to a more modular one (which I wanted to do for a long time but couldn't because again, I didn't have my 3090), so I did, and it had me rerender the livingroom and kitchen areas. So I did, and those 2 areas are now better-looking than ever AND, have a better dishwasher. How nice.

So this whole rerender thing took me like a couple of days, after which I worked on the events leading to Riley opening her JustAFan. I think I made some good progress on that front, as I'm done with 3 small events out of 5, but I'm obviously not quite done yet.

One of the events requires one of Riley's scheduled events to be done so I'm working on that right now, but on this event she's in her PJs, so I wanted to make her an avatar to always start with a sane base whenever Riley makes an appearance in her PJs. Here's the result:

Admittedly I'm not very happy with how I lit this one, but what was more important to me was to be able to use this avatar whenever I needed it. So consider this a bonus, I guess.

So I made this avatar, and then proceeded with Riley's scheduled event. It's actually rendering right now, as I write this. So when it's done rendering, I'll probably resume working on Riley's JustAFan line of events. Funny story by the way, I forgot to write lines for that particular schedule event. So I had to write a bit of dialogue for that particular event, regardless of the JustAFan questline. Outside of that questline it's a very minor event, so it didn't take long.

Other than that I streamed a little last Saturday. It was a very short stream (compared to how long I usually stream for), but it allowed me to finish some images I needed for a particular set of events.
