PROGRESS REPORT #56
Hello people, welcome to the 56th progress report!I got pretty busy during the last cycle...
I'm already done with both the overlay update, and the schedule system.
For those who don't know (meaning those who don't have access to the progress bars or watched my previous streams
Overlay update: this aims to update how the "interactables" buttons look, for two main reasons. The first one, I had to unify how the buttons work for both interactables and collectables. Because yes, there will be collectables in the game in the near future (in the form of hot pictures of mom), and those will be scattered around the world, and one of the way to collect them will be to squint your eyes at a little square placed on the world, and to click on it. Making a big circle floating on top of it would defeat the purpose, hence the new buttons. What I'm talking about is probably kind of unclear, so here are some examples:


I also could have made that kind of button only for collectables, but the resulting inconsistency would probably have been unnecessarily confusing to players. And also the second reason is: they were ugly. Floating circles suck. Moving on.
Schedule update: this was the bulk of the work done during the last 10 days, to be honest. Prior to that, ALL the events were checked on *every* game update, so at every time skip or any event requiring me to update the world, the game would check all the events to see if they needed to be activated or not. Now, this is done via schedule. The game checks every character's schedule, only for a particular hour, and fires the events accordingly. Not only this makes the code way cleaner and structured, this makes it compatible for me to write, and easily update, a functional schedule list. See below:

I know you'll notice the holes in the schedule I've shown you. I'm still looking for ideas on how to fill them, but rest assured, they will be in due time.
ALSO, since the last dev cycle lasted 11 days, instead of the good old 10, I updated the last avatar that needed updating. Namely, Eve's. Here's what I've come up with:

This is only for her avatar picture though, it shows how she feels inside, deep in her soul.
Anyway.
This is about all I've done during the last dev cycle. Next, I'm probably going to open Blender and start making props for the new bedrooms. I might stream some of that, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interrested in that kind of stuff. I'll see you on the next 10 days.[/Center}
