Updated due to the game being leak elsewhere.
games+ is usually games that has been removed on other sites, or require a Third-Party Patch or a "Third-Party Patch"(clandestine dev upload) for characters appearing <18 Years old
The "removed/banned on other sites" requirement was a thing way back when it was the "restricted" section. Games+ just has everything with loli and shota (and possibly other objectionable tags, I'm not certain, those are the only ones I'm really concerned with). This has been the case since it was set up, after the prick reported the site to the hosts for having loli games with "realistic" AI art and it ended up causing a bunch of problems. So they just put anything with these tags in games+ and lock access behind the rank so there's less chance of trolls putting in the effort/cash to see what's here and try to report the site, and they're not willing to take the chances with any loli or shota content, even if it's available elsewhere.

I almost downloaded this until a saw a sandbox tag. I really wish devs would just save those for actual games like city builders rather than porn stories. I mean at the very least with just one hand it's far easier to simply click a choice rather than deal with game elements too right?
Obviously I'm not saying this should change your opinion or anything, but usually sandboxes work best when point-and-click elements are going to be used often anyway. Hidden images, crime scene investigations, object finds, etc., all are what sandbox should be used for. There are some games that do this correctly, but most of the time they are unnecessary. Lunar's Chosen takes advantage of sandbox for providing secret renders. Secrets of Whispering Pines does a good job with having the MC investigate crime scenes. One of the biggest benefits of sandboxes is setting them up so you aren't required to do things in a specific order. This is where a huge number of them fumble. If event F must happen before event N, a sandbox doesn't do anything that a standard VN couldn't: jumping to scenes in a specific order so the outcome is what the dev intends.

And, of course, there's exactly the point you made too. If there's literally nothing interactive other than rooms / characters, there's effectively no difference between making an image of the kitchen door clickable and just having a button saying Go to the Kitchen. In those cases especially, the sandbox is extra unnecessary work, and that's not even accounting for the negative of how many people dislike them.

There is one final advantage of sandboxes, which is that the sandbox itself rarely changes much other than when a new area is added and/or when character locations change. This means that if you save your game while in sandbox mode (i.e., not during a scene), you can almost guarantee that the save will be compatible with every single update. Any past saves during scenes still would run the risk of not being loadable, but if your latest save was in the sandbox, you can almost always continue without any issues.

TL;DR: I agree with your premise and don't expect to change your opinion. But there are (if done properly) advantages of sandboxes even in adult games, depending on what the dev wants to do. They absolutely are overused and more often than not are used "correctly" but fail to take advantage of the real reason sandboxes were developed in the first place.

What a F**k.... Another game creator who don't want, all should could play his game...

Put up this on Op as warning... This game only work if you have Win 10 or Higer
Odd, it it because of a new Renpy version or something? This is the first I hear of this. I didn't dl it because of sandbox tag but my dedicated porno PC (AVNs, video clips, various sites, etc) is still W7 has has been fine for 12 years for that purpose so I guess this is another reason to ignore it. I'm not upgrading an OS and dealing with that hassle on something that's not even my main PC just because M$ quit supporting it, or a popup tells me to; fuck them, I don't need their stupid support or planned obsolescence.

Actually, if you're running a version of Windows earlier than 10, you really should look at upgrading or moving to a new Operating System. Windows 10 is 9 years old now and not even the most recent one (which is 11). Ren'Py itself (with newer versions) will shortly stop supporting anything earlier than Windows 10: (see the Pending Deprecations section). I'm no lover of Windows or MacOS, but unless you want to stop being able to play Ren'Py games altogether at some point, you really should consider finally updating your version of Windows. Or better yet, look at getting instead, which is 100% free and typically included in builds that Ren'Py makes.

Personally, I feel like one of the best ways a sandbox could be used in an AVN would be - specifically in a harem/multiple LI game - allowing for a main story to be focused on, with "side stories" and/or side characters to be included (or even added later on, allowing for a focus on the core story before back-filling side content) without the worry of players needing to wait forever to see the main story progress while optional side stories get worked on (as so many VNs have happen) or even worse, expecting players to keep multiple saves or constantly restart because the dev goes back and adds things in to earlier parts of the game.

I've seen, on occasion, sandbox games where the main story is nearly completed before the dev then goes back and starts working on side content, essentially using the side content/characters the same way that other devs use a second game, as a way to stave off burnout/writer's block, which ends up letting them keep working on the same game, and more quickly jump back to the main story if they get inspired with what to add next, while working on the side content.

I think the biggest faux pas for sandbox, though, is trying to get too far into the weeds with time/dates for tasks, especially because devs seem to never have the ability to balance the tasks in a way that players don't end up with 10 different tasks that all need to be done at the same time, with absolutely nothing else to do for the rest of the day, so they spend days in a row doing nothing until that one specific time so they can do each individual task, instead of just being able to go through all of them in a tenth of the time. And even worse is when a sandbox game has the unavoidable events that force you into them, pass time, and then you lose your chance to do the task you were trying to do, and are only allowed to do at one specific time on one specific day of the week, meaning you have to go through an entire week just to try again.

The best sandbox games are the ones that just throw out time and days entirely, and simply let you choose to either continue with the main story, or do the side content, in my opinion.

I think I mostly agree with you. I don't think Time and Day are bad necessarily. But I think having them should be more flavor than anything. For example, you could have an individual event modify some of its descriptions depending on the time of day.

MORNING
Nashira: Thank you for bringing me here, MC. I love how the sun peeks over the horizon.
AFTERNOON
Nashira: I'm glad we found some shade to sit in, MC. This heat gets stifling!
EVENING
Nashira: I've always enjoyed the painting across the horizon as the sun sets. I'm happy we ended up here.
NIGHT
Nashira: Do you know the constellations very well, MC? My father and I used to count them after he was home from work and everyone had finished dinner.

But I'm definitely with you when talking about having to forward for a week or something. That's a problem. Sometimes a developer will have a "Skip to the Next Day" or (rarely) a "Skip to Next Week" option, but those still shouldn't be needed IMO. At least, not usually. (I say "not usually" as a caveat, since I can't think of when you would need it, so it's always possible there's a scenario that could come up.) Typically, if done a certain way, a sandbox would never be used to place events only at certain day(s) / time(s); and it certainly would avoid forcing any kind of grinding.

I don't know if I asked this before but basically the "games+" content here equals to teens, right?
Depends on the AVN. It's the shota and loli tags that lands them in +, but sometimes those tags are for nothing. Not sure if that also applies to teen/hebe tag or not. Lately there's been a few AVNs with a loli tag that had no lolis, unless they were just copying F95's tags, as their definition of a loli is stupid (anyone under 18, so with AOC being 16 in my state I can legally fuck a loli according to F95). It's hit or miss, some AVNs have actual 8-10yo lewd lolis so are rightfully in +.

Windows 7 & porn = I hope it's at least a VM because it's got viruses. Your entire network security is only as good as its weakest link. Security updates ended almost 2 years ago

That's exactly why I don't use it for anything but porn. I seldom get viruses since I seldom go down random porn rabbit holes on Google image/video with it (last one was in 2015, entirely my own fault for that ransomware), but when I do a simple reinstall from an OS backup removes it, and if it's a keylogger or something all the passwords they get are to my usual porn sites that are free anyway. And my porn PC has it's own VPN acount and not directly connected to the rest of the house's network. Like I said before I don't really need M$'s silly security updates. If they want to keep getting people's money they should prob switch to a subscription service or something instead of forcing unnecessary new OS's every decade. XP upgrade was necessary, because it was 32-bit so was limited to 4GB of RAM and 137GB drive volume size limits. W7 could still be fine, as no one will actually need more than 192GB of RAM or 18 million TB hard drives (GPT format, assuming those ever even exist in that size) probably in anyone's current lifetime and they could have simply put DX 12 in W7 and made it their last ever OS, but no, they have to keep force feeding everyone inferior crap (actually tried it for free on my porn PC in 2015, hated it, so went back to 7 on that, for work and everyone else's PC's I suck it up and use 10 because my CAD programs and such need that, as does most newer Steam games released after about 2020, but I still hate it).

That's why I switched to Linux about 10 years ago ;)

VPN is a WAN tunnel, doesn't isolate you're LAN at all. Accessing the internet over a VPN just changes your entry point (changes your WAN to a remote server), it won't protect you from anything except man in the middle attack. You're relying on that servers firewall for any internet traffic. To keep it isolated from other local devices you'd want to put it on it's own VLAN.

sorry - off topic done

So, from skimming the thread, some tags are avoidable, but bunched together, not separated tag options ?

I'm at the end and can't figure out how to do the night tease of all three girls, any help would be welcome? Fun game, hot models, good writing, good story, would love longer cinematics with less clicking.

Having this same issue.
Hey

Assuming since you're at the end you gained all necessary skills (stealth 2 for example).

Sneak in bedroom, click on girl in bed, click on the upper left corner (two times IIRC, one for blanket, one for clothes). Then you should have choices enabled : mouth, tits and pussy. Need to perform each scene to unlock next tease.
Only one action by night, 6 actions by girls, lots of clicking to do !

I for myself cant figure out to do the "Lust Potion" quest... Potion crafted, asked Ash to wake me up (to sleep naked), put lotion in front of Faye's door but she only touches herself...

Help would be much appreciated !

this seems like a wait and see after another 3 years type game. over 1 year in and outside of teasing, there are only 5 actual sex scenes, 2 with the goblin chick from the beginning, 1 with the demon librarian, 1 with the Amazonian summon, and one between the dog and some random thief. very sparse for the amount of time wasted just running around finding random objects to unlock the next stage. typical sandbox time waster as it exists now, that seems to have done a few random scenes with no real connection between them just to shotgun blast as many tags as possible.

mid at best if it keeps this up. maybe it will be good in like 3 years, but as it stands, i recommend people pass on this for now, as most of it will just blue ball you.

oh and for future reference, at least as of the current version on here the tags are all largely bait right now. like all of them. going through them all.
the bestiality is skippable, but its exactly one scene and the pic for it is already previewed here.

the futa is literally just a show on the tv you watch at night.

for incest in the "uncensored" version mc has a mom and two sisters. there is a handjob with the mom, and another with the dark hair sister, then one footjob with the pink haired sister.

there is more lesbian content between the two sisters (and the one sisters friend) than there is content between them and the mc.

lactation is a repeatable single frame event for a potion ingredient so you can watch one sister masturbate.

technically there are monster girls, but they are 90% human form. and aside from just being weird colors like green or light blue, there is only one scene with a not humany girl, that is a snake tail wrapped up bj with a lamia.

there are some sleep scenes were you mess with the mom and sisters a bit, but nothing beyond fapping on them.

the "loli" who is referred to as "little girl" by the mc when meeting is the lamia who is a reference to the multi-thousand year lamia demon lord, who has a busty adult bottom half snake form. the shota is just the mc after a shrink potion.

and thats it, thats basically the whole game, aside from 3 hours of "sandbox gameplay" running around looking for random shit. and i mean random, only one part does the game even bother to explain any of it, after that its just collect random shit the hints tell you to get to the next part. like soap, belts, a hamburger, random shit.

as it stands this game has only two things going for it, models look good (scenes themselves are average) and it did a great job baiting all those tags so it would get lots of traction quick and easy. maybe it will be good in like 3 years once it has some actual content not just tag teasing. but until then, i warned you lol.

Actually, while it's not the MC involved, the lolis and shotas are really primarily in the nighttime TV show, once they are captured by the villainess.

@BlackStarGames, is this from another game or just a nice image you decided to include in Ash's room?

Thats from Dumb Koala's game Movie Night. One of their best games imo.

its the only tag the game does 100% lol, parody. all the walls are literally plastered all over with images from other porn games. nearly every picture you see in every room is from another game, including even other characters as the lamia is a main character from monster girl quest.
