Thinking back on my favourites, I think 2D is my go to, and the 3Ds that make it into my favourites are the exceptions.

I find it's the concepts of what's occurring, not the visuals themselves, that matter more.

The problem is that bad 2d art can still be good, but bad 3d art tends to be trash, really weird looking. Would love to play more good 3d games

3D if the models are good but both are nice.

2d is really good

2D can be very good, but so can 3D done right. We still have the uncanny valley effect in some 3D models, and not everyone does 3D well. Then again, 2D is not done well lots of times either.
AI may provide another way -> start with a 2D/3D sketch, inpaint to realistic or whatever aesthetic you want. You can do it in a consistent way nowadays for stills, not yet there for video/animation.

3d all day, especially with the latest daz models

everything depends on the style of a given artist, but more focused on 3D

I generally prefer 2D games.
But overall there are more choices in 3D.
